The Sheraco Stakes is a Group 2 sprint race for fillies and mares held on Run To The Rose Day at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse in mid-September each year.
Part of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival, the event is contested at set weights plus penalties and offers $300,000 in stakes.
First run in 1998 the Sheraco Stakes makes a nice lead-up into races including the Group 2 Golden Pendant (1400m) and even Melbourne’s Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) held at Flemington on VRC Derby Day.
Any four-year-old mares out of the Sheraco Stakes may also head towards the lucrative $10 million Golden Eagle race, which the 2019 Sheraco winner Mizzy ran third in.
Mizzy (2019) and Manaal (2025) are the latest mares to complete the Sheraco Stakes – Golden Pendant double.
