The Theo Marks Stakes is a Group 2 race run and won at Rosehill Gardens in mid-September during the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.
Held on the same day as The Run To The Rose for Golden Rose-bound three-year-olds, the event is a quality handicap race contested over 1300m.
The Theo Marks Stakes offers $300,000 in prize money and serves as a nice lead-up into the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) held at Randwick the following month. Winx (2015) was the last galloper to complete the Theo Marks Stakes – Epsom Handicap double in a single season.
In 2023 the Theo Marks Stakes winner Golden Mile placed third in that spring’s Epsom Handicap results.
