Although this race currently takes place at Randwick Racecourse, it has had a varied history which also included being held at Warwick Farm and Canterbury Park. From its inaugural race until 2012, this race was held as a Listed race. Since 2013, it has held Group 3 status.
The Toy Show Quality is named in honour of the outstanding filly and 1975 Golden Slipper Stakes winner Toy Show.
Other races held on the same day at Randwick include the Winx Stakes, the Silver Shadow Stakes and the Show County Quality.
The event serves as a nice lead-up into the Group 2 Sheraco Stakes and Mizzy (2019) was the last mare to do the double.
