While Sydney’s Saturday card at Rosehill might not feature a Group 1 event, the quality on offer across the ten race Run To The Rose Day program certainly isn’t lacking in terms of quality.
The Group 2 Run To The Rose will headline the raceday and with a full field set to contest the $300k feature for the three-year-olds, we’re in for a real treat.
The card also boasts top-class support races, including the Sheraco Stakes, the Theo Marks, and the Ming Dynasty Quality, each bringing their own excitement and prestige to the day.
I’ve delved deep into the form and have provided my detailed Run To The Rose Day betting selections below.
MODELLA returns to the races.
Lightly raced, having just had the five starts, the daughter of Castelvecchio has shown plenty of promise and I think she’ll continue to rise through the grades.
A dominant winner at Kembla Grange at her second outing, she was given a break and returned with a terrific effort at Warwick Farm, where she beaten by only the narrowest of margins.
She showed her class stepping out at stakes level, finishing only 1.3 lengths off them in the James Carr before another brave effort in the Hawkesbury Guineas, closing off strongly into fifth.
She comes here off two pleasing trials and from the wide gate, she’ll get back and be doing her best work late.

ADOLPHUS was solid to the line when resuming over this course and distance last month and he will have taken plenty of benefit from the run.
The Matthew Dale trained son of Rubick has put together a tidy record and he’s excelled over 1400m.
Fitter for that first up run, he looks ready to peak and has won second up previously.
He’ll get conditions to suit and draws to get the right run under Ash Morgan.

JUJA KIBO was set a task last start when stepping out to 2400m for the first time and I’m happy to stick with him.
From the wide gate, the former Irish galloper was restrained at the start and soon found himself back at the tail, over sixteen lengths off the leader at one point.
Making a long-sustained run 900m from home, he just peaked on his run late, which he was entitled to do in the heavy conditions.
The gelding had put together back-to-back wins in impressive fashion prior to that latest outing.
Only lightly raced, he looks a smart stayer on the rise, and he gets senior rider back aboard with Ethan Brown to take over the steering.

SEVEN’S has performed well in both of his runs this campaign and I think he’ll continue to rise through the grades.
He kicked off his preparation with a strong win over 1550m at Canterbury and with the slight drop back to 1500m here last time, he travelled well throughout and finished off strongly late.
Only lightly raced, the imported galloper was placed at his first two starts on Australian soil before a below par effort saw him sent to the paddock.
At peak fitness, he’ll relish the rise to 1800m, and he gets in beautifully with the light weight.

FLYING FOR FUN kicks off her Spring Campaign.
The four-year-old daughter of Speith has shown plenty of talent in her six runs to date and she boasts solid form around her.
She did plenty wrong on debut and was subsequently spelled but returned in fine order to score back-to-back wins.
Given more time, she resumed in the Listed Fireball, where she beaten less than a less in second and onto the Darby Munro, it was a gallant effort to hold on for fifth behind Autumn Glow, after taking up the running.
Beaten only a neck in the PJ Bell, when settling back in the field, she showed both her class and versatility.
There was a lot to like about her recent trial, where she closed off late from the tail and this looks an ideal race for her return.
Zac Lloyd has been onboard in three of her six starts, and he’ll again take the reins for Bryce Heys.

GRAND PRARIE has race fitness on his side and comes off a strong win in the Group 3 Up and Coming Stakes.
Whilst the win wasn’t under pleasant circumstances, the colt’s effort over the final 100m was certainly tenacious.
The son of Written Tycoon performed well in his first two starts before a break and he’s come back in fine order this campaign, with two wins and two second placings from four outings.
He was strong to the line as he paired off with Skyhook in the Listed Rosebud and out to 1300m last time, he looked to relish the extra distance.
Kerrin McEvoy takes over the steering and at 1400m, I think he’ll be too strong for them late.

JOLIESTAR makes her return.
Now a three-time Group 1 winner, the Zoustar mare has well and truly proven herself a high-class galloper.
She’s won three of five first up appearances but didn’t have the best of luck when resuming earlier in the year.
She was quick to atone for that, as she proved too sharp for them in the Newmarket Handicap.
We last saw her raceday when she saluted in the Kingsford Smith Cup and given a well-earned rest, she makes her return here off two pleasing trials.
She handles all conditions and gate seven should see her afforded every chance under Zac Lloyd.

I’ve found it hard to split WODETON and TEMPTED here as I’m very keen to follow both runners.
TEMPTED proved too good in the Percy Sykes as well as the Reisling during the Autumn and she a hard luck story in both the Blue Diamond and Golden Slipper.
Now under the care of Ciaron Maher, Godolphin’s daughter of Street Boss looks to have returned in top order with an impressive trial performance and she’s sure to make her presence felt under Ethan Brown.
WODETON kicked off his campaign with a very encouraging effort in the San Domenico and would’ve finished much closer had Raging Force kept his line.
The Golden Slipper runner up has yet to run a bad race, and I think he’ll continue to improve.
Fitter for that first up run, the slight rise to 1200m will certainly suit.

AUTUMN GLOW kicked off her preparation with a tradesman-like win in the Toy Show Quality and I think she’ll be hard to beat again.
Showing her class, the unbeaten mare dug deep in the heavy conditions to take out the Group 3 feature by just over half a length.
With her record now at five wins, four of which have come at stakes level, she just continues to impress, and I think she’ll relish the rise to 1300m here.
Kerrin McEvoy guided her to victory over this course and course distance at her second race start and they team up again looking for the same result.
| 5. Autumn Glow (2) J: Kerrin McEvoy 54kg 1x1x1T: Chris Waller |
VIENNA VIXEN is racing well and looks a great each way chance at a nice price.
The Ciaron Maher trained mare hit the line strongly over the 1400m at Caulfield two runs back and last start, over this track and distance, she tried hard over the final part, just going down by a neck on the line.
It was a brave effort considering it was her first time at the Sydney way of going and she will have taken plenty of benefit from it.
Zac Lloyd stays aboard and with even luck off the wide gate, I think she’ll be right in this.
