Looking for early info on this year’s The Galaxy? The experts at Neds have put together everything you need to know before this year’s race.
Run over 1,100 metres each March at Rosehill Gardens, the Group 1 The Galaxy is the feature sprint race on Golden Slipper Day in Sydney. With a $700,000 prize purse, the event is a popular short-distance showdown every autumn and makes a nice target for graduates out of the Group 2 Challenge Stakes (1000m). Eduardo (2021) was the last sprinter to complete the Challenge Stakes – The Galaxy double.
Following The Galaxy race, many horses may continue onto Randwick’s Group 1 T.J. Smith Stakes (1200m) during April’s ‘The Championships’.
