The Wyong Gold Cup is a $250,000 Listed event run and won at Wyong Racecourse in early September each year as a lead-up to the bigger Sydney Spring Racing Carnival staying events.
Contested over 2100m, the event is a quality handicap race and the winner of the Wyong Cup Prelude is exempt from ballot in the Friday racing feature.
Wyong Gold Cup Day takes place on the Friday before Sydney’s Chelmsford Stakes Day on the Saturday at Randwick and Melbourne’s Memsie Stakes Day card at Caulfield.
