The official 2026 Todman Stakes results will be available below once the race takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026. 

Bjorn Baker’s untapped but very promising Extreme Choice colt Paradoxium ($2.60F) ran the ideal Slipper trial leading from barrier to box off a well-rated Jason Collett ride to salute for the punters in the 2026 Todman Stakes results and firm into favouritism for the $5 million grand final on March 21 at Rosehill.

Run over 1,200 metres, the Todman Stakes is a Group 2 race, held every March for two-year-olds heading towards the coveted Group 1 $5 million Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m).

A set weights event for juvenile colts and geldings, it is run at Royal Randwick during the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival on Randwick Guineas Day, which also features the Group 2 Reisling Stakes for Golden Slipper-bound fillies.

Farnan (2020) was the last horse to complete the Todman Stakes – Golden Slipper Stakes double for Gai Waterhouse.

The 2021 Todamn Stakes winner Anamoe went on to firmly frank the form out of the race with a Golden Slipper second and Group 1 Inglis Sires’ win that autumn. He won twice more in the spring, including the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m), with a Group 1 Golden Rose second in between and finished a devastatingly close second in that October’s $5 million Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley. 

The 2023 Todman form was franked with the third placegetter Militarize winning the Group 1 Inglis Sires’ – Champagne Stakes double that autumn before a spring return headlined by his Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes victory.

The 2023 Todaman Stakes winner Cylinder meanwhile franked the form the next autumn returning on the same date, but in Melbourne, to claim an emotional victory for jockey Jamie Kah at Flemington in the 2024 Newmarket Handicap.

The 2024 Todman Stakes winner Switzerland franked the form that spring winning the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes down the famous Flemington ‘Straight Six’.

The 2025 Todman Stakes proved a serious launchpad, with winner Tentyris going on to claim that year’s Coolmore Stud Stakes before returning the following autumn to beat the older horses first‑up in the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning. The form stacked up right behind him too — Wodeton finished runner‑up in the Todman, Golden Slipper and Golden Rose, while Nepotism added further polish to the race by taking out the Group 1 Champagne Stakes over the Randwick mile that April.

Todman Stakes Race Day 2026

The 2026 Todman Stakes takes place on Saturday, March 7, 2026 as part of 2026 Randwick Guineas Day. There are two Group 1 races on the card with the running of the Group 1 $1 million Randwick Guineas (1600m) for three-year-olds and the Group 1 $750,000 Canterbury Stakes (1300m). Supporting the two Group 1 races are the:

• Group 2 $500,000 Challenge Stakes (1000m),
• Group 2 $300,000 Reisling Stakes (1200m),
• Group 3 $250,000 Wenona Girl Quality (1600m), and the
• Group 3 $250,000 Aspirational Quality (1600m).
