Hello my friend we meet again, it’s been a while where should we begin?
FEEEEEEEELS LIKE FOREVERRRRRRRRRR
WE. ARE. BACK! And if you cannot tell I am very very very bloody excited for a brand new NFL season.
The longest offseason in world sport is officially done. The fantasy football drafts are over and we are kicking the 2026/27 season off with not only a Super Bowl rematch but a game in Melbourne!
There is a mountain of things I could say in here to get you up and about but if you’ve already clicked on this article I know you’re bloody keen form some football action. Aren’t ya, you naughty little goblin.
Let’s dive into, 6 months of NFL football starts now!
Here is my preview of Week 1 of the NFL Season.
We’re kicking it off with a Super Bowl rematch, your Super Bowl Champions the Seattle Seahawks are $1.55 favourites over the $2.50 Pats and if I’ve learned anything about great defences on opening night. This game will be CLUNKY from an offensive and gambling perspective.
The line is short, the over/under is short, TreVeyon Henderson has just been ruled out, the Seahawks are looking like they will have a running back by committee to start the season.
What do you bloody punt on?
I like Rhamondre Stevenson over 58.5 rushing yards in this one now that Henderson is out too. It’s also hard to look past that Darnold and JSN connection.
Oooooh baby, the Melbourne Game. I’ll be there and I might have a few more bets on than just these ones. If you see me, shout me a beer.
The Rams are mad short for both this game and to win the Super Bowl but their travel strategy isn’t hitting quite right. Flying in, playing and f***ing off. I don’t care what the science has told them, these boys are gonna be wrecked after a 17 hour flight.
The 49ers look value to me and also have done an amazing job of promoting the game down here in Aus, I’m backing them to win here at $2.25.
Aaron Donald will not travel with the Rams so I like a huge amount of San Fran. CMC will see plenty of work, I’m loading up on all things Mike Evans and quite frankly. The Rams don’t want to be here so I imagine Kyren Williams will see a monster amount of touches so LA can get back on a plane as quickly as possible.
Two of my favourite QBs in the league do battle early Monday morning on the 3am slate. My beautiful boy, my comfort QB Bryce Young will look to continue to improve with the best version of the Panthers he’s ever had.
On the opposite side of the ball is Caleb Williams, a man I’m whole hog in for MVP this year. Caleb is going to have a monster season this year and unfortunately for the side of me that adores BY9. That starts here in Carolina in Week 1.
The Bears -3 is where I’m looking here and I’m really keen to see what kind of target share Rome Odunze, Luther Burden and Colston Loveland receive from Caleb.
It’s hard to tip any of those fellas with confidence without seeing them in action. I do however really like Caleb 250+ Passing yards at $2.40.
I want some Bryce too and his 209.5 passing yard looks really good to me.
Trevor Lawrence and the Jags are the first team with the honour of beating up on the Cleveland Browns. The Browns are going to be deep fried ASS this year and it honestly couldn’t happen to a group more deserving.
Just like Caleb William’s WR room that I just mentioned, we don’t really know the target share in Duval County, will it be BTJ? Parker Washington? Jakobi Meyers or Travis Hunter? Will Bhayshul Tuten be the fantasy sleeper he’s been tipped to be? There’s far too many questions about the weapons. We can however, back the man utilising them to have a big day and I’m doing just that.
Any team vs the Browns 14+ this year that’s the plan and we’re starting here.
I don’t rate the Saints this year, there I said it. Nothing about this team outside of Travis Ettiene interests me and I believe they get touched up by a very good Detroit Lions team here in Week 1.
That 7 point line almost seems too perfect. I see the Lions getting out to an early lead and running the clock down with Jahmyr Gibbs who could easily win OPOTY this year.
Big day for da Gibb incoming.
The Steelers don’t seem to be a good team to me, I believe they will be carried by a strong defence this season and we’re more than likely to get our first taste of that against Tua and the Falcons here.
Bijan Robinson will need to be involved early and often if the Falcons are a chance of getting anything moving here and I’m quite worried there might not be a mountain of yards for him. He is a stud though so I could be 100% wrong.
Steelers win with no one popping off the stat sheet, Bijan gets volume, that’s how I see this one.
Do you really want to bet on this game? This is easily top 3 worst games of the year.
Titans v Jets, 3am, with week one rust?!
Back the unders and move on.
The Colts burst out of the gates in a big way last year with Daniel Jones under centre and then when his leg fell off, so did their season.
He’s back and has the big task of taking on the Ravens at home in this one, this could be one of the better games on the 3am slate.
Lowkey, I don’t mind the Colts to keep this close, a field goal in it with that 3.5 point line, I’m keen to take it on.
What else do I like? Both JT and Derrick Henry the ever-immortal to have a big day. I’m really fascinated to see how much volume the likes of Tyler Warren and Zay Flowers see in this one. Probably not punting on them in Week 1 but certainly watching their efforts with blackbook in hand.
A super lit defence hosts a super lit offence here and I’m a bit dirty this is another 3am.
Josh Allen and the Bills look value here to me at $1.82, you won’t get that price that many times this year for Buffalo.
I’m really unsure if CJ Stroud has it as a QB in this league and I’m liking him to get found out in this one against Buffalo.
I’m expecting a big day for James Cook in the backfield here for the Bills, plenty of volume incoming.
I love Joe Burrow, I love Baker Mayfield. This game for me personally, dope as hell.
I’m backing this to be a close one, I’m still not convinced the Bengals have a good defence and Baker Mayfield just got paid.
Can a fella put on a hell yeah multi?
I’m expecting big things from these boys, AIR IT OUT!
We will have to wait a little bit longer to see first overall pick Fernando Mendoza make his debut. The Raiders will trot out Big Kirko, Kirk Cousins in this one and I honestly think he can dismantle this Miami Dolphins side.
Miami might be one of the worst rosters I’ve ever seen assembled, on paper at the very least there is nothing here that interests me.
A big day for Brock Bowers should be on the cards.
The line for this game is 5 points and out of respect for Jayden Daniels, I won’t be tipping either side of it.
Let’s write this game preview out like I’m talking to a caveman with CTE
Philly good
Commies bad
Devonta Smith catch lots, Saquon run fast
There’s a truckload of targets that have been vacated in Philadelphia after AJ Brown departed in the offseason and I reckon D. Smith gobbles up a ton of them. He should have a massive day.
I’m very excited to see what a Mike McDaniel’s run Chargers offence can put up this year and I feel like they get a great opportunity to do it this week against a bad Arizona Cardinals outfit.
Omarion Hampton put an Instagram dump up during training camp with a Staind song as the backing track so I’ve decided that’s my dawg this year. 100 yards and a TD incoming here.
Herbert is going to have a big year this year, I’m just keen to give him a week or two to see who get’s all his targets.
Kyler Murray debuts as the Vikings signal caller and gets to throw to JJettas, the greatest receiver he’s ever had.
The Vikes are favourites in this one but honestly, I think the Packers could upset them here. They look value at $2.
I think people forget how good Jordan Love can be and while the Vikings have stolen a lot of NFC North headlines this offseason. The Packers are probably up for this one and could pinch a very valuable early road win.
I don’t think this Giants team is very good, and that is coming from a fan of the team. There are certainly some very bright and shiny pieces, the defence has potential but I see a world where the Cowboys do naughty naughty things to the Giants at Metlife in primetime here.
I like Jaxson Dart but I suspect him and Cam Skattebo could be a bit rusty here.
Meanwhile for America’s team it seems to be all systems go.
Javonte Williams has a big game here.
UPSET ALERT
The Kansas City Chiefs are $1.68 favourites here, for me though there is enough question marks about them to lean towards the Broncos on MNF.
Patrick Mahomes ridiculously early from that torn ACL, Rashee Rice spent part of the offseason in jail, Ken Walker comes across. I suspect that the Chiefs should be a bit slow out of the gates this year.
Denver however, red hot. Bo Nix get to pair up with Jaylen Waddle. Very very excited things happening in Denver, the land of recreational hooter.
