Therefore, we haven’t found room for her in our Moir Stakes betting guide 2026.

GEEGEES MISTRUTH (4) arrives here fresh off a courageous Group 1 triumph in the Sangster at Morphettville. That performance marked a career-peak effort, showing she can stand toe-to-toe with elite company.

However, we don’t think she can win over 1000m first-up, and she might need a few runs under her belt to show her best form this season.

Despite having just two career victories on her record, MY GLADIOLA (6) is flying under the radar in early betting markets. Her racing style is tailor-made for a race with hot speed.

She’ll likely sit near the rear of the field and come with a big late run, which is possible at Sandown. She has a turn-of-foot to boast, and although there isn’t much market support, she could figure in the finish at nice odds.

POINT BARROW (10) is a tough and honest type who is difficult to dismiss outright, though her racing pattern leaves her with work to do.

We expect her to drift toward the tail of the field early and do her best work late when the early leaders begin to tire. However, over 1000m, she might not warm up until the winner crosses the line.

With Craig Williams taking the reins, she should jump in a forward position, and over 1000m, she could take some running down.

She might not be a Group 1 type just yet, but that could change on Saturday, and we’re not prepared to leave her out of picks.

There is little to criticise regarding her honest racing record, but HEARCOMESTHESTAR (11) rarely encounters Group 1 opposition. We expect her to be under pressure when the sprint goes on, and she could finish in the second half of the field.

The $41 odds don’t interest us at all.

Punters are getting surprisingly generous odds on this rising talent, who underlined her potential with a flashing second-place finish in The Goodwood.

While 1000m is shorter than her optimal distance, and her peak form is expected to come over 1200-1400m later this spring, EXTRAGALACTIC (2) possesses enough class to finish over the top of them.

They’ll go quickly up front, and that should play into her hands.

BAZABALL REWARDED (3) is a fit sprinter who consistently fights hard in the straight. However, she finds herself outclassed against the top line of runners here.

Connections are entitled to have a crack at the big prize while she is in form, but we’re leaving her out of our picks. She’ll need to find 2-3 lengths to win the Moir Stakes, and we can’t see that happening on Saturday.

The short-priced favorite NATURAL FLING (13) brings natural speed to the contest, making the 3YO filly a winning hope.

Navigating the wide draw won’t be easy, but she has enough early burn to cross the field and head straight to the line. If she gets there, she could sprint away with the Group 1 prize with 50.5kg on her back.

Her odds could firm with public money likely to come for her.
