Auckland FC are the defending champions and current joint-favourites with Newcastle and Sydney. However, we’re picking the Melbourne teams to play well this season, and they’re paying nice odds with A-League winner odds.

A-League Winner Predictions
We have three tips for our A-League winner predictions, who are paying generous odds to lift the trophy this season.
It’s never wise to leave the Melbourne Victory out of A-League predictions, so we’re putting them on top for the 2026/27 season.
They finished fourth on the A-League ladder last season, which was a solid effort. They had 11 wins, seven draws, and eight losses, and although they came up short in another title bid, they won’t lose too much sleep.
The Victory has been one of the most consistent A-League teams in its history, and they have recruited well this season. We like their new additions, and given the professionalism of this club, the $6 odds to win the title are too good to turn down.
We priced them on the same line as the favourites, so include them in A-League winner predictions.
There is only 50c between the top five teams in betting markets, which shows how competitive this season is expected to be. One of those teams at $6 is Melbourne City, who ended last season on a good run.
They won four of their last five games to put pressure on the Top 4, and although they came up one win short, we give credit to them for making a late charge, and it bodes well for the season ahead.
City has many high-quality players who are good enough to take them to the playoffs. If they make the playoffs, they could be the team to beat, given their structure and experience in big situations.

Mcarthur FC couldn’t quite get to double-digit wins last year, but they were close, and they don’t need to improve too much to have a good year.
They finished seventh, but some of their losses were close games, and they didn’t get the big moments go their way. However, their fortunes could turn in their favour this season, and they’re a team that shouldn’t be slept on.
They haven’t been underestimated in betting markets, which is good to see, and they’re currently ranked above the likes of the Wanderers, Phoenix, Glory, and Roar, so they’re being respected with A-League winner odds.
Given the $11 price, they’re worth including in picks, and they should give their loyal fans and punters a good sight.
