Chairman’s Quality 2026 Results

The official 2026 Chairman’s Quality results will be available below once the race takes place on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young’s progressive New Bay five-year-old Newlook ($8.50) relished a rise and trip and was given a perfectly timed ride by Rachel King who scored herself an early double on Day 1 of The Championships to head the 2026 Chairmans Quality results on the now Sydney Cup-bound stayer. Coming from a midfield position at the top of the straight, Newlook chased down the front running Campaldino and drew away late to score by over a length and firm from $101 right into $8 through to take out next weekend’s 3200m classic.

Chairman’s Quality 2026 Tips

Our insider 2026 Chairman’s Quality tips will be detailed here the week of the race and a full betting preview published on the Neds Blog.

The Chairman’s Quality is one of the key support races on Doncaster Mile Day, which is officially Day 1 of Sydney’s ‘The Championships’ held at Royal Randwick each April during the autumn carnival.

A Group 2 event for stayers, the race takes place over 2600m and serves as a potential final lead-up into the following weekend’s Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m) over the two miles. The Offer (2014) and Circle Of Fire (2024) are the latest gallopers to complete the Chairman’s Quality – Sydney Cup double on the quick back-up.

In 2022 Chairman’s Quality runner-up Knights Order improved to win the Sydney Cup next start as well as run third that October in the spring’s Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) in Victoria.

Contested as a quality handicap event, the Chairman’s Quality has been run and won since 1979 and offers $300,000 in prize money.

In 2025, the Chairman’s Quality form stacked up strongly, with third‑placed Valiant King returning in the spring to round out the Caulfield Cup trifecta.
