Carrying a $500,000 prize purse, the A.D. Hollindale Stakes is usually contested by a line-up of interstate raiders heading towards the Group 1 Doomben Cup (2000m) held a fortnight later. Streama (2014), Zaaki (2021) and Antino (2025) are the last runners to complete the A.D. Hollindale Stakes – Doomben Cup double.
In 2020 the AD Hollindale Stakes was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 2023 Zaaki made history winning the A.D. Hollindale Stakes for the third straight year before his trainer, Annabel Neasham, took her Hollindale record to four straight with a first-up upset in 2024 by Numerian ($31).
The 2025 AD Hollindale Stakes stacked up superbly, with Antino, Fawkner Park and Kovalica repeating the exact same trifecta in the Doomben Cup, and Kovalica adding even more polish to the form by taking out that year’s The Q22.
