Wrap up your weekend with our 2026 Sale Cup Day best bets, highlighting the key runners ready to help you out on Sunday!
SUPERSTOCK (7) is third-up and ready to run a nice race at each-way odds.
It’s been a while since he last won a race, but he has been around the mark in both runs back, landing midfield last time out at Geelong and holding that spot all the way to grab fifth.
This is his first go over 2000m, but working up in distance and proven on wet tracks, he’ll be in this for a long way under Jake Noonan, who pilots from a soft gate.

Ciaron Maher has opted to take on the Sale Cup with TEN COMMANDMENTS (5), rather than Friday’s meeting at Cranbourne.
This talented seven-year-old arrives in good form having won the Gold Nugget at Ballarat two back, before taking on Listed company at Headquarters where he plugged along fairly on a very wet day over 1400m.
There’s a lot to like about him back out over the mile now, particularly with slightly firmer ground expected. Thomas Stockdale rode him to win in the Gold Nuggett and appears to have a few options from barrier 7.

HEDJET (16) is down to race at Bendigo next week but looks a good chance at running here if he earns a spot in the field as the second emergency.
Clinton McDonald’s gelding to American Pharoah was an impressive winner of his maiden last start at Geelong, bolting forward early into stride and making every post a winner to finish three lengths clear.
He’s in well at the weights here set to carry 56kg and maps to repeat those tactics in a race that doesn’t appear to hold a ton of early speed.

ELECTRIC ELVIS (5) is a noted wet tracker who could be dangerous here with a ton of respectable form to his name.
He’s looking to snap a string of placings that dates back to July, while he’s managed to jag a pair of wins over his last five starts – both on rain-affected going.
The step back up to 1200m is right in his wheelhouse following a runner-up effort over shorter at Seymour last start, and considering he was off a six-week break that day, he should have good improvement to come.
