Evergreen Turf Vase Betting Tips, Predictions & Favourites

We have Evergreen Turf Vase tips and predictions for the Group 3 1600m race at Caulfield on Saturday.

Evergreen Turf Vase odds have Surfin’ Bird as the favourite, but it’s a wide-open race for the fillies and mares.

Best Bet
#9 Savitri @ $4.20

Savitri looks the runner to beat in our Evergreen Turf Vase predictions, and she has plenty going for her from barrier 1.

The Mitchell Freedman-trained mare has been racing consistently this preparation, and gets the chance to return to the winner’s list after finishing strongly at her latest start. She has already shown she can handle the 1600m, and she gets an ideal setup from the inside barrier.

The Soft 6 track should also suit, and with Savitri already proven at Caulfield, she looks one of the safest options in a competitive race, so put her on top in Evergreen Turf Vase predictions.

Second-up favourite; scored a big 3.5 len win in a Bm70 at Mornington on September 26 over 1500m on a rain affected track defeating Miss Castelvecchio with 62kg at $3. Dominant second up and can go on with it.

#5 On Display @ $4.20

The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained mare finished third first-up and should take plenty of improvement from that effort. She has shown enough ability over this distance to suggest she can be competitive in Group 3 company, and the step up to 1600m looks ideal.

She gets Mark Zahra aboard, which is another major positive, and although barrier 10 isn’t ideal, he should have enough time to find cover before they settle into the race.

She looks ready to peak second-up and has already been well supported in the market. At $4.20, punters get good value odds for a runner who was unlucky last start, and she could turn that form into a win.

Include her in picks this week as an each-way chance.

Previously second-up got back early 5th of 10 in the G2 Sunline Stakes at this track on March 21 over 1600m, 3 len behind Treasurethe Moment carrying 57kg at $8.50. Best Roughie
#8 Perfect Ten @ $8.50

The Nikki Burke-trained mare returns from a spell with an excellent first-up record and comes into this race off two straight wins. She finished last preparation with a dominant victory over 1800m at Caulfield Heath and has already proven she can handle the track and softer ground.

The 56kg is another positive, while barrier 5 gives Craig Williams plenty of options. He should be able to settle her in a comfortable position before making his move in the straight.

She has won three of her past four starts and looks ready to make her presence felt again. The return from a spell is the obvious query, but she has won first-up previously, and she has had a good jumpout leading into this race.

$8.50 isn’t a “roughie” but we couldn’t leave her out of our Evergreen Turf Vase tips, so she goes into the mix.

Punters get value odds with our Evergreen Turf Vase SRM, which includes our three selected runners.

We have Savitri Top 2, On Display Top 3, and Perfect Ten Top 4, which pays $8.75 for our three-runner SRM.

Punters should get a good sight with all three runners, and they should fill three of the top four positions. We’ve left out the favourite, but punters get better odds because of it.
