BOYS BOUNCE (2) can improve sharply second-up and gets the right distance.
The Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained colt ran well on debut over 1200m at Lakeside. He enjoyed a good run before losing his position near the turn, then picked up strongly to finish third, beaten 1.46 lengths.
The step to 1500m should suit the way he finished that day.
There does not look to be much speed here, so Jye McNeil can use the inside gate and put him into the race early.

SOMETHINGS BURNIN’ (1) returned with a win and can keep improving.
The Chris Waller-trained colt settled back over 1200m at Lakeside before charging home to win by a length.
He did not enjoy the clearest path but still showed enough to suggest he has plenty of ability.
The stable put him in the Group 3 Baillieu last preparation, which shows the opinion they hold of him.
Blake Shinn takes over, and the rise to 1300m should help.

DIRTY LOOK (8) has trialled sharply and looks ready to run a big race fresh.
The Grahame Begg-trained mare was particularly impressive in her latest jump-out, putting her rivals away with ease.
She also loves the Hillside track, winning an Up & Coming Stars Series heat at her only previous attempt despite being impeded.
She is lightly raced and gets the low draw, so this looks a strong setup.

EDUCATED (6) was brave first-up and should be much better for the run.
The Ciaron Maher-trained mare was forced to race three-wide outside the speed over 1100m at Caulfield but still fought on strongly to go down by a neck.
She won second-up at Flemington last preparation after being held up before bursting clear.
There is plenty of speed engaged, but she has drawn well and Jabez Johnstone claims 2kg.
