Ten races have been assembled on the Gold Coast this Saturday, with the Pink Ribbon Cup between the fillies and mares the highlight of the program.
The track is rated a Soft 5 at the time of writing, with the rail in the true position around the course.

YES DONALD YES (5) looks a likely improver coming off a win over the track and distance last start.
A son to Yes Yes Yes, he got right back around midfield in the end and was a fair way back still approaching the turn, bolting in though with a tidy turn of foot to win by more than a length.
He’s only third-up and finds a similar race with the experienced Cejay Graham returning to the saddle, so all signs point toward another honest effort.

| Built neatly into the campaign, winning a Benchmark 60 over 1400m here last start by just over a length from Lady Windermere after being sent out favourite. He had resumed with a sound third at Sunshine Coast, beaten just over two lengths as favourite, and now stays at a distance where he is unbeaten from two runs. Proven setup gives him a strong winning case again. | |||
EXCEED THE SALE (1) deserves another chance after finishing a length off in second at Eagle Farm three weeks ago.
Tony Gollan’s filly found the clear out very wide close to the outside running rail, running on strongly but still proving no match for High Authority along the inside.
She was a clear winner the start prior at Doomben where she was given a more economical sit in behind the speed before bursting clear, so with the claim helping her out at the weights and an inside gate to her name this time, she should be hard to beat.

| Eased back from Saturday company after finishing second to High Authority at Eagle Farm, beaten just over a length as favourite after settling rearward and still being well back on the turn. She had won at Doomben the start prior, beating Metal Boss by just over a length as a well-supported favourite. The 60kg is the query, but the form profile is strong. | |||
TARAVIA (10) is a much better chance third-up than the price suggests.
This is a decent rise in class for the son to Tarzino, but there was plenty to like about his front-running win on the Sunshine Coast last start where he found something extra down the straight to pull nearly two lengths clear.
He won’t know himself stripping right back to 52.5kg in the saddle and from another soft gate, he’ll be fast into stride and very difficult to catch with improvement still to come.

| Improved third-up to win a Benchmark 65 at Sunshine Coast, beating Demarcay by just under two lengths after leading to the turn and finding again. His Beaudesert third in Class 3 grade was only steady, but this campaign has still produced a placing and a win from two starts. Stronger race now, so he profiles as a place chance. | |||
DARK ARTS (7) was the beaten favourite on return at Doomben last month where he always too far back in the run.
The son to Snitzel angled into the clear down the outside but still left himself too much of a job to do, knuckling on well for third in the end in a good go for the line.
He’s always been an honest type and simply needs a touch of luck from the wide gate to go his way.

| Finished third first-up in a mid-week Class 3 at Doomben, beaten two and a half lengths as favourite after settling well back and doing his best work late. His previous Doomben second came with an awkward start, so the pattern is honest without being dominant. Needs a stronger winning edge, but place claims are clear. | |||
PRECISE STAR (6) has gone up short odds and for good reason.
Tony Gollan’s gelding made it four on the trot when he went half a length clear at Eagle Farm over shorter last start, arriving back on the Gold Coast for the second time after making a mess of his rivals here three runs back.
The apprentice claim helps him out significantly at the weights and he maps to roll straight to the front and run the race on his own terms.

| Arrives in winning rhythm after taking a Benchmark 70 at Eagle Farm over 1500m, beating Detrimental by half a length as a short odds-on favourite. That backed up a four-length Class 2 win at Ipswich over Wounder, so the progression is clear. Proven at Gold Coast and the trip, with the same rider claiming again. | |||
SPIRIT OF BARTY (12) appears close to another win.
Tony Gollan’s mare has been racing well without winning and is looking to snap a run of recent placings that dates right back to the start of July.
A daughter to Spirit Of Boom, she’s held her own in some tougher races in Brisbane recently and typically does her best racing over these short sprint trips. Look for her to land midfield and save her best for the finish.

| Has finished second at her past four starts, most recently beaten a long neck by Howdoyouzou in a 3-4yo Benchmark 68 at Eagle Farm when held up around the home turn as favourite. Her prior Doomben second in a 3yo+ FM Class 3 was another sound effort after an awkward start. Gets her chance to turn consistency into a win. | |||
GRAND IMPACT (1) looks the pick on sheer class.
The previous Group 3 winner has been racing in slick form of late, finding the cash in all three of his starts this time in work down in Sydney.
He’s untried here on the Gold Coast track but looks primed for a step up in trip coming off back to back starts over 1200m.
Anna Roper has a good feel for the seven-year-old and she’ll have no problem pressing forward early looking to set the tempo.

| Narrowly denied in a 3yo+ Benchmark 94 over 1200m at Rosehill last start, where he was the odds-on favourite, struck some contact near the 350m, hit the lead and was beaten just over half a length by Lisztomania. He had earlier run second to Eagle Express at the same venue on soft ground. The 1400m query is real, but the form reads strongly. | |||
BINGI (11) is an interesting runner resuming for Stirling Osland and connections.
The lightly-raced son to Snitzel spent most of the autumn competing at Group 1 level across the country, notably finishing two lengths fifth in behind Observer in the Australian Guineas.
This is a serious step back in class and although the trip is well short of his best, he’ll be tough to beat with class and a recent trial win on his side leading in.

| Returns from a lengthy five-month spell after finishing last in the G2 Queensland Guineas at Eagle Farm over 1600m on heavy ground, beaten a long way behind Brave Monarch. He had also been well beaten by 25 lengths in the G1 ATC Australian Derby at Randwick, so the raw form is poor, but this is a sizeable class drop and he has won a trial at Grafton. Trial win helps readiness; 1400m is the main question. | |||
CARRAVILLA (3) has to be considered a major contender on recent form.
She got right back off the speed and came storming home with a strong run for third at Doomben last start, and now presents rock-hard fit with four runs under her belt.
Her wins have been spaced, but in an open race with a good gate at her disposal, she’s capable of giving this a shake.

| Kept improving when third in a Benchmark 72 at Doomben, beaten just under a length after travelling well and lengthening into the placings. She had earlier started favourite at Sunshine Coast and was run down late after an awkward beginning. Honest mare with solid place appeal, provided she handles the soft track. | |||
TEN DEEP (9) resumes for Tony Gollan and looks forward enough to add to a solid first-up record.
The six-year-old mare won her lead up trial at Doomben a few weeks ago and is likely to find this a touch easier after contesting the Listed Silk Stocking last time out here on the Gold Coast.
She’s missed the money only four times from 16 career starts and maps to settle in the forward half of the field if Ryan Maloney can get across early from out wide.

| Returns from a five-month break after running seventh in the Listed Silk Stocking at Gold Coast, beaten just over three lengths over 1400m when overrun late after having every chance. Before that she won a 3yo+ Class 6 at Eagle Farm as favourite, beating True To Form by just over a length. Strong 1200m record makes her a genuine place chance. | |||
