We have San Domenico Stakes tips and predictions for the Group 3 sprint at Rosehill on Saturday.
San Domenico Stakes odds are available, where Blue Door has been best-backed to pick up black type.
We have the Golden Slipper being a good form guide for 3YO racing this season, and topping the line is Guest House, who won the Slipper in March.
The 3YO colt by Home Affairs handled conditions best at Rosehill, and with the sting coming out of the track at Rosehill this Saturday, the conditions should be ideal for him to show his best form.
Zac Lloyd riding adds another dynamic to his chances. From barrier 7, we expect Lloyd to give him time to find his feet, and although this race is run over 1100m, the wet track will make it feel like 1200m.
There is less risk in taking Guest House at $5 compared to Blue Door at $2.15, so we’re including the Slipper winner in our San Domenico Stakes predictions for Saturday’s exciting race.
| 1. Guest House (7) J: Zac Lloyd 58.5kg 1231xT: Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr | |||
| Resuming. Finished off last preparation winning by 1.4 len this track G1 G Slipper March 21 over 1200m slow track defeating Streisand carrying 56.5kg at $11. On debut won by 0.8 len Cranbourne 2yo Hcp December 27 over 1000m defeating Resolutely carrying 59kg at $1.85. Smart smart colt and Slipper winner but camp don’t have him screwed down for this – not his GF. | |||
There has been solid betting support for Wild Atlantic, who opened at $10 before firming into $7.50 during the week.
The Hawkes stable must think a lot of the colt to line him up here, and his trial form speaks for itself. The son of Exceedance has four trial wins from five attempts, including a trial win at Rosehill last time out by 2.8 lengths.
He could be the new kid on the block, and there is enough betting support with San Domenico Stakes odds to recommend him as a betting prospect. He has massive upside, and he could score a memorable debut win.
| 8. Wild Atlantic (4) J: Tyler Schiller 55kg T: M, W & J Hawkes | |||
| Three-year-old colt making debut by Exceedance out of Innishbeg. Won a barrier trial over 900m at Rosehill on August 21. Lacks experience but looks a handy type off his lead-up work. | |||
We’re sticking with the Golden Slipper form and backing Music Time to run in the Top 3.
The Canberra-based gelding hasn’t done anything wrong during his career, including three wins and two placings, and one of those placings came in the Slipper last time to the races behind Guest House.
He paid $41 on that occasion, so punters didn’t respect his ability, and the same thing has happened again. There isn’t much respect for him at $18, but he’s a much better runner than those odds suggest.
We liked what we saw at the recent trials when running second, and it wouldn’t be a big upset to see him finish in the money at generous odds.
| 3. Music Time (5) J: Kerrin Mcevoy 57kg 1113xT: Gratz Vella | |||
| Resuming. Finished off last campaign third of 16 at this track in the G1 G Slipper March 21 over 1200m, soft track; 2 len behind Guest House with 56.5kg at $41. On debut second of 7 at Canberra 2yo Hcp December 28 over 1000m, 1.5 len behind Bar Jester carrying 58kg at $3.20. Kept stepping up to the mark in debut prep – would be rude to dismiss him. | |||
Punters get value odds with our San Domenico Stakes SRM, which includes our three selected runners.
We have Guest House Top 2, Wild Atlantic Top 3, and Music Time Top 4, which pays $22.00, which is a huge payout, and it helps by including Wild Atlantic and Music Time at good odds.
Punters can maximise profits by including Music Time at value odds. He’s going under the radar, so include him in all San Domenico Stakes predictions.
