WEAPON CLEAR (4) came back in terrific order two starts ago after 11 months off, leading throughout to win by two lengths over 1000m at Bendigo.

The David Binaisse-trained gelding then gave a big sight in this grade over this course and distance, only getting nabbed late when finishing just under a length third to Dreamzel and Walter Spur.

He meets those two slightly better at the weights and should be ready to peak third-up.

From barrier 1, Caitlin Hollowood’s 3kg claim gives him every chance to roll forward and take catching.

MISS CASTELVECCHIO (5) had excuses first-up at Moe when things didn’t go her way and she weakened to finish 2.95 lengths fourth.

The Charlotte Littlefield-trained mare was caught in a similar spot over 1443m at Geelong last start, racing three-wide on speed, but this time she kept coming and powered away to win by 1.75 lengths.

She now gets to a mile, and she won over this trip by three lengths when ending last preparation.

Emily Pozman sticks, claims 3kg, and should give her every chance from the inside draw.

CENSORI (1) stepped to this distance for the first time last start and handled it impressively, dominating her Lakeside contest.

The Danny O’Brien-trained filly settled back before circling the field approaching the straight and letting down strongly to win by 3.25 lengths with something in hand.

She is rock-hard fit and any rain would be in her favour.

Lachlan Neindorf stays aboard and should be able to place her in a prominent position from the good barrier.

HERE’S MATILDA (14) kicked off her career the right way, winning over 1200m on the Lakeside track.

The Ciaron Maher-trained filly settled handy before letting down strongly and getting the better of Blue Shield by three-quarters of a length, with nearly three lengths back to third.

She should take plenty from that race-day experience, and the rise to 1400m looks ideal.

Jabez Johnstone can stalk the leader and press the button in the straight.
