After a very successful international break for our Socceroos, the A-League returns this weekend and should not disappoint!
Here is my preview for Round 23 of the 2024/25 A-League Season!
Eighth hosts ninth on Friday night and the Bulls are ever so slight favourites over the Jets with the home side $2.30 compared to the $2.75 on offer for the visitors.
Macarthur, despite being favourites here only have the one win in their last five games compared to the Jets’ three and I don’t mind backing the upset here truth be told.
Macarthur FC has lost three of its last four games as a favourite following a win and I hardly call the Jets monster underdogs here.
$2.75 looks good getting to me.
The Phoenix have been awful in this second half of the season, my favourite betting team of all time have really let me down for what feels like an eternity.
$3.75 looks like unders for a team that cannot buy a win playing the third placed WSW who are on a four game winning streak.
Surely the Nix don’t have an actual chance here even if they have lost six of its last nine games as an away favourite following a win.
Sorry Wellington, WSW to win.
Game of the round?
Sydney FC are ever so slightly favourites in this big fixture, the seventh placed side comes into this game with two wins and three draws in their last five however this is another game I lean towards the “upset”
You can never truly count out fourth placed City and I just don’t see how Sydney match up better here.
City look value to me.
Adelaide are another side who are in a very rough spot form wise.
No wins in their last five and are outsiders against the Vics here.
Melbourne Victory are $1.94 in this one and should get the better of Adelaide.
Adelaide has won three of its last four matches as an underdog but that form does not give me any confidence here.
It’s the Mariners turn to beat up on Perth this week and it’s hard to make a case for anything but that scenario here.
Will Perth ever be good again?
It’s hard to say but I don’t believe it will happen this weekend.
Central Coast Mariners should get the three points here and that’s where I’m putting my hard earned.
This will be a beat down and there is no way around in.
Auckland are so hot right now and Brisbane are anything but.
Not to mention it is very wet in Brisbane this weekend and this will be the third game on the Suncorp surface this weekend after a Dolphins v Broncos derby and the Reds hosting the Force on Saturday night.
Not sure who will cop it worse here, the Suncorp surface or the Roar.
Either way I’m with Auckland.
