2022 NFL Week 9 Tips & Preview

2022 NFL Week 9 Tips & Preview

The trade deadline is officially over which means we are halfway through another NFL Season. What a year it’s been! Geno Smith and The Seahawks are currently top of the NFC West and the Eagles are still undefeated!

There is a lot going on this week, the Texans are the next team that have to take on Jalen Hurts and the Eagles.

Derek Carr and The Raiders will look to turn it around when the take on The Jaguars and The Chiefs will look to try and stop Derrick Henry who ran for a whopping 219 Yards last week against the Texans.

Here is my preview for Week 9 of the NFL.

There’s plenty of action each week on the Neds NFL Punting Podcast too, check that out below!

Houston Texans v Philadelphia Eagles
Tip: Podcast Multi - AJ Brown Anytime TD, Miles Sanders 2+ TDs, Dameon Pierce Over 62.5 Rush Yards, Dallas Goedert 30+ Receiving Yards @ $29

The undefeated Philly Eagles take on the 1-5-1 Houston Texans on TNF.

I’ve had The Eagles earmarked as one of the best teams since Pre-Season and they are continuing to rip and tear through every team that stands in their way.

The Texans should be one of the easier matchups they get this year and I like Philly to put on a clinic in this one.

On the podcast we came up with AJ Brown Anytime, Miles Sanders to Score 2, Dallas Goedert 30+ Yds and Dameon Pierce Over 62.5 Rushing.

It’s a big one, paying $29 but Philly should run riot and Dameon Pierce may be the only Texan that gets his.

Anytime TD Tip: Pick Any Eagle and you should be a huge chance

Chicago Bears v Miami Dolphins
Tip: Miami -5 @ $1.90

Tua is back and looking like he did before those Head injuries (or back injuries if you’re a Dolphins doctor)

The Bears don’t stand a chance in this one, they traded away Roquan Smith to the Ravens just before the deadline and it’s clear that they are getting ready for a rebuild.

Chase Claypool who has come over from Pittsburgh should start for Chi-Town but I think that the fire power Miami has on both sides of the ball will be far too good for The Bears.

Dolphins to Cover.

Anytime TD Tip: Jaylen Waddle

New York Jets v Buffalo Bills
Tip: New York Jets +12.5 @ $1.90

The Breece Hall-less New York Jets could not get it done against The Patriots and Buffalo failed to cover the line against Green Bay last week.

I’m actually very excited for this match up. The Jets are huge outsiders but we will get to see Sauce Gardner on Stefon Diggs which will be a huge test for the young cornerback that hasn’t conceded a touchdown at the college or professional level.

I don’t think the Jets are a chance in this one, Zach Wilson looked poor last week but I do want to take them on at the 12.5 points line. The Jets defence is good and I think that should be enough to keep them semi close in this game.

Anytime TD Tip: Gabe Davis

Atlanta Falcons v Los Angeles Chargers
Tip: Chargers 1-13 @ $2.55

Don’t sleep on the Falcons this year, they’re currently 4-4 and are atop of the NFC South.

They’re up against a Chargers team who’s receiver room is seriously down on talent. Mike Williams has already been ruled out and Keenan Allen might not play.

They do still have Austin Ekeler though that is one of the best Running Backs going around.

I think the Chargers have enough pieces to scrape out a win against the Falcons. If they were full strength I’d be taking them 14+ but the Falcons have been giving it to some good sides this year so I think this one could be close.

Anytime TD Tip: Austin Ekeler

New England Patriots v Indianapolis Colts
Tip: Colts +5.5 @ $1.90

The Patriots have been so hot and cold this year it’s not funny. That being said, the Colts have been just as up and down.

I really want to back the Colts outright. They’re $2.85 outsiders and I don’t think anyone can look at that Pats team and confidently say that they’ll beat any team this year.

Without Rhamondre Stevenson they would be in a lot of trouble.

It’s still yet to be seen if Jonathan Taylor will play hence why I’m not game enough to take the Colts outright but I do believe they will cover regardless.

Anytime TD Tip: Rhamondre Stevenson

Cincinnati Bengals v Carolina Panthers
Tip: Bengals 14+ @ $3.05

The Bengals got huge reality check when they played the Browns on MNF last week.

They are an incredibly talented team but need to show up week in and week out to have success. I don’t think losing Ja’Marr was the reason they lost that game.

I’m back them to bounce back in a huge way this week. The Panthers are looking better and better every week but I think that the Bengals loss last week is the kick up the bum they needed.

I think they will come back in a real strong way this week and am expecting a lot more from Burrow and CO.

Anytime TD Tip: Tee Higgins

Jacksonville Jaguars v Las Vegas Raiders
Tip: Jaguars H2H @ $2.02

Two sides that have struggled so far this year. Someone has to win!

I’m taking the Jaguars who are slight outsiders in this one. Trevor Lawrence is too good of a QB to not bounce back and The Raiders have really struggled to get their passing game going.

So much so that Derek Carr got benched last week.

I’m predicting a huge game from Ettiene here, he had 150+ rush yards last week and should carry the offense once again.

Anytime TD Tip: Travis Ettiene

Detroit Lions v Green Bay Packers
Tip: Green Bay (-3.5) @ $1.90

The Lions suck and they know it.

It’s rebuild time once again in Detroit and Head Coach Dan Campbell looks to be on the outer.

Rodgers and his young receiver core should absolutely torch this Lions outfit and get back to their winning ways in this one.

-3.5 should be light work for the Packers.

Packers to cover.

Anytime TD Tip: Romeo Doubs

Washington Commanders v Minnesota Vikings
Tip: Vikings -3.5 @ $1.90

The Vikings are the real deal this year and they’ve just gotten even better.

They traded for Lions TE TJ Hockensen at the trade deadline and that will be great for every person in that offense.

Cousins gets a new weapon and JJettas should see less double teams.

The Commanders look better with Heineke but The Vikings should win this one comfortably.

Anytime TD Tip: Justin Jefferson

Arizona Cardinals v Seattle Seahawks
Tip: Seattle H2H @ $2.05

The Call of Duty Curse struck again for Kyler last week!

He clearly couldn’t stay away from the video game when it launched last week and the Cardinals lost to the Vikings.

It’s another tough matchup for the Cardinals this week. Geno and the Seahawks are COOKING.

I think the Seahawks as underdogs is too good of a value play to not get on. Let Geno cook!

Anytime TD Tip: Ken Walker

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Los Angeles Rams
Tip: Buccs H2H @ $1.67

The Disappointment Bowl.

Both sides have struggled so far this season and they really have no excuse to.

This is truly a hard one to tip because it could really go either way.

Cooper Kupp has a bung ankle that he copped at the end of the 49ers game last week and that for me is the difference maker in this one.

I’m taking Brady and the Buccs to bounce back.

Anytime TD Tip: Chris Godwin

Kansas City Chiefs v Tennessee Titans
Tip: Chiefs -12.5 @ $1.90

The Chiefs are fresh off the bye week and the Titans got a win last week solely because Derrick Henry banished the Texans to the shadow realm.

The Titans are $5 underdogs and I think the bookies have that one right, the Chiefs are far too good here and if Derrick doesn’t play like the greatest RB of all time, this one could be over by halftime.

Chiefs 14+ is the same price as Chiefs -12.5 so why not give myself an extra 1.5 points breathing room.

Chiefs to Cover.

Anytime TD Tip: Juju Smith Schuster

New Orleans Saints v Baltimore Ravens
Tip: Ravens -2.5 @ $1.90

Fresh off their shutout win against the Raiders, the Saints will now have to take on a Ravens team that just buffed their D in a big way.

Baltimore just traded for Bears Shutdown Linebacker Roquan Smith and that could be the piece they need to take it deep this year.

The Ravens are looking like themselves once again after a slow start to the season and I think they should cover comfortably in this one.

Keep an eye on Mark Andrews, if he isn’t good to go, Rookie TE Isaih Likely will be in for a big game.

Anytime TD Tip: Lamar Jackson
