2022 NFL Week 8 Tips & Preview

2022 NFL Week 8 Tips & Preview

Week 8 is here and this NFL Season is certainly not disappointing!

The trade deadline lingers and many teams might start throwing around players in an attempt to salvage a season or cover for an injury.

There is a lot going on this week, I love the Friday game Ravens v Buccaners there is also Vikings v Cardinals, Giants v Seahawks and 49ers v Rams that I am looking forward to.

Here is my preview for Week 8 of the NFL.

There’s plenty of action each week on the Neds NFL Punting Podcast too, check that out below!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Baltimore Ravens
Tip: Podcast Multi - Leonard Fournette O50.5 Rush Yards, Fournette to Score a Touchdown, Lamar Jackson 70+ Rush Yards @ $5.57

Boy oh boy did the Buccs have a stinker last week. Getting blown out by the shell of a team that is the Carolina Panthers is not something that I expected at all.

This week they take on the Ravens who haven’t really had a convincing win this year, they have been great but have found ways to let teams back into games all season long.

This game is actually super hard to tip because nobody has any idea what the Buccs are going to give us and the Ravens have been a huge head scratcher this season as well.

On the NFL Punting Podcast this week, I took Leonard Fournette Over 50.5 Rushing.

The Ravens give up 115 Rush yards per game this season and given that Lenny is the clear RB1 I see him being north of 51 Yards comfortably.

Anytime TD Tip: Leonard Fournette

Jacksonville Jaguars v Denver Broncos
Tip: Broncos H2H @ $2.15

Another London game!

This one kicks off at 11:30pm Sunday night (AEST) so make sure you adjust your fantasy line ups accordingly.

The Broncos suck and I hate them but what I can’t deny is their defence is absolutley crushing it.

It’s a shame their QB has turned into such a Cringelord that it draws attention away from how well their secondary is doing shutting down teams.

Yes they lost to the Jets last week but I think that they could give Trevor Lawrence a really hard time this week.

Denver will definitely be in a position to win, it will all depend if anything actually happens on offense or not.

The Jags also traded away James Robinson so I will be loading up on every market that has anything to do with Travis Ettiene.

He is going to get FED especially if the Broncos corners aren’t giving T-Law anything through the air.

Anytime TD Tip: Travis Ettiene

Dallas Cowboys v Chicago Bears
Tip: Dallas Cowboys (-9.5) @ $1.90

The Cowboys open as huge favourites against a Bears team that embarrassed the Patriots on MNF.

Dallas have one of the best defenses in the league and I think that will really trouble young QB Justin Fields.

Dallas’ offense hasn’t really been what I expected they would be this year but with Dak Prescott back under centre I’m hoping to see some fireworks from the likes of CeeDee Lamb and Dalton Schultz (if he’s healthy).

It’s a huge line at 9.5 points but I think that Dallas cover that with Dak, it could be worth a sneaky play on the Cowboys defence Anytime TD.

Anytime TD Tip: CeeDee Lamb

Philadelphia Eagles v Pittsburgh Steelers
Tip: Philadelphia Eagles 14+ @ $2.15

Philly look to make it 8-0 against the 2-5 Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers have been unlucky this year, they came oh so close to a win against the Dolphins but an interception at the goal line so them go down.

Pittsburgh will be good at some point, they have all the pieces they need but this year isn’t it. Philly should dominate them in this one and that’s why I’m taking the 14+

Anytime TD Tip: Miles Sanders

New Orleans Saints v Oakland Raiders
Tip: Saints H2H $2.02

This game is another one I’m struggling to get a read on.

The Raiders scored 38 points last week thanks to a hattrick from running back Josh Jacobs.

Both teams here are 2-5 and it’s really could go either way.

Former first overall pick Jameis Winston has officially lost the starting QB job to the Red Rifle Andy Dalton which is never a good sign for an organisation.

It doesn’t help that All Pro wide receiver Mike Thomas is apparently made of glass and hasn’t trained with the team for what feels like an eternity here.

The Saints are still scoring points, Kamara is still a beast and they are getting players involved, this game is a coin flip for me but I think I like New Orleans in this one.

Anytime TD Tip: Chris Olave

New York Jets v New England Patriots
Tip: Jets H2H @ $2.15

This game could be a mess.

The Patriots are a shell of the once great organisation they were and the New York Jets who have been unstoppable this year will need to get it done without Breece Hall who has been the cornerstone of their offence this year.

Zach Wilson needs to throw the ball more if the Jets are going to get a win here, yes they got James Robinson from the Jags but he’s not Breece.

The Pats are a mess and I can see whoever they decide to start at QB getting shutdown by Sauce Gardner and the rest of the Jets Secondary.

I can’t believe the Jets are underdogs against this Pats team, I’m on em again.

Anytime TD Tip: Michael Carter

Minnesota Vikings v Arizona Cardinals
Tip: Minnesota Vikings (-3.5) @ $1.90

This is my game of the week, I am looking forward to this one a lot.

There’s heaps of players I love getting around in this one with Jefferson, DHop and Kyler to name a few.

What I’m interested to see though is how Kyler Murray plays because… Call Of Duty MW2 drops on Friday and Kyler’s win percentage drops during Call Of Duty Events from 52.9% to a jaw dropping 32%

Now that Kyler and COD is out in the world and is a massive meme, will he make a huge effort to focus on football? Or can he not help himself?

I think he’ll have square eyes on Sunday afternoon and I think the likes of Jefferson, Cook and Cousins coming off a bye week will be too much to overcome.

Vikings to cover.

Anytime TD Tip: Justin Jefferson

Detroit Lions v Miami Dolphins
Tip: Miami Dolphins (-3.5) @ $1.90

It’s getting harder and harder to make a case for the Lions as the season progresses.

They haven’t really been the high powered offense they were at the start of the season.

D’Andre Swift should be back but they may be without Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Meanwhile the Dolphins are such a better team with Tua behind the wheel, they were great against the Steelers last week and I like them to run up the score against the Lions.

Anytime TD Tip: Jaylen Waddle

Atlanta Falcons v Carolina Panthers
Tip: Carolina Panthers (+4.5) @ $1.90

This one is turning into a sneaky good game.

Both teams have had a bit of success recently and are fairly evenly matched in my eyes.

The Falcons would be such a better football team if they actually got Drake London and Kyle Pitts involved.

They were both limited to 9 yards in Week 7 and it’s frustrating to see a team invest high draft capital in players and not put them in positions to succeed.

I’m backing the Panthers to cover here, The Falcons are a good team but The Panthers win over The Buccs last week showed me that they can still ball out.

Anytime TD Tip: Chubba Hubbard

Houston Texans v Tennessee Titans
Tip: Titans (-2) @ $1.90

Big AFC South Showdown.

The Texans have showed me this year that they aren’t the huge dumpster fire I thought they’d be this year and the Titans have showed me that they can win games even though they don’t have a lot of offense that I get excited about (until Treylon Burks gets of IR).

The Titans’ QB situation is one to monitor here, Tannehill has an ankle injury and if he’s a no go, rookie Malik Willis should get his first career start.

I’m bullish on Willis but probably not on debut.

One to keep an eye on.

Anytime TD Tip: Derrick Henry

Los Angeles Rams v San Francisco 49ers
Tip: Rams H2H @ $2.02

The Chiefs showed me last week that the 49ers D is in fact human.

The Rams are coming off a bye week and I’m hoping that means a return to form, to say they have disappointed this year would be a gross understatement.

While the 49ers have now had over a week to get CMC up to scratch with the playbook I do like the Rams in this one.

It was a dismal game when these two met in Week 4 but I’m backing the Rams to have learned from that game.

Anytime TD Tip: Christian McCaffrey

Indianapolis Colts v Washington Commanders
Tip: Colts 1-13 @ $2.30

This is a game I will not be watching.

Colts have moved on from Matt Ryan and Taylor Heineke is the new Commanders signal caller.

There isn’t a huge amount that excites me in this match up.

What I am predicting is Jonathan Taylor to return to the value that saw him taken 1st overall in fantasy drafts.

If he gets fed, The Colts should win.

Anytime TD Tip: Jonathan Taylor

Seattle Seahawks v New York Giants
Tip: Giants H2H @ $2.30

This is actually a joke.

The 6-1 NY Giants are once AGAIN underdogs.

They play the 4-3 Seattle Seahawks and I cannot for the life of me understand why people keep sleeping on The Giants.

I’m sick of writing the same blurb about them being underrated every week, I’m just getting on them and profiting till the bookies catch on.

Anytime TD Tip: Saquon Barkley

Buffalo Bills v Green Bay Packers
Tip: Green Bay (+11.5) @ $1.90

The Packers are another team that should be focusing on college football prospects.

They have been bad this year and will be up against it this week when they take on Super Bowl favourites the Bills.

The 11.5 Line is rough, the Packers are bad but I think they will stick with the Bills.

It’s too big of a line to not take on.

Anytime TD Tip: Aaron Jones

Cleveland Browns v Cincinnati Bengals
Tip: Bengals (-3.5) @ $1.90

Joe Burrow is grouse at football.

We’ve known it for years but he’s starting to find his feet again (in more ways then one).

Joe Shiesty is currently second in the league for most yards and I’ve backed him to go on a late run for MVP.

I think he’s going to TORCH the Browns on MNF, the Bengals continue to improve and the less Joe Brr gets sacked the better they will be.

Anytime TD Tip: Tee Higgins
