Joe Pride’s ultra-consistent Lonhro mare Weeping Woman ($3.40F) kept her winning roll going in the 2026 Triscay Stakes results, producing a brilliant all-the-way performance to stretch her streak to four straight. The bonny five-year-old bounced straight to the front at Randwick, controlled the tempo, and kicked strongly when it mattered thanks to a gun ride by jockey Tim Clark to hold off Manaal, with Verona Rose in third.

Run over 1,200 metres in February at Royal Randwick on Apollo Stakes Day each autumn, the Triscay Stakes is a mares’ only race run under quality handicap conditions. 

Starting out as a Listed Race, this race was upgraded to Group 3 race status in 2014 and can serve as a nice lead-up into the Group 1 Coolmore Classic, taking place the following month at Rosehill Gardens.

In 2022 the Triscay Stakes winner Snapdancer went on to take out the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) in Adelaide next start as well as the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) in Melbourne that spring.

The 2022 Triscay Stakes form also held up that October in the $2 million The Invitation race for mares with the runner-up Promise Of Success running first and the Triscay third placed Electric Girl crossing second.

The 2024 Triscay Stakes form was franked with the winner Semana running a next up second in the Coolmore Classic before a third in that year’s Queen Of The Turf Stakes trifecta.

Inhibitions, winner of the 2025 Triscay Stakes, underlined the strength of that form later in the year when she returned in the spring to capture the $2 million The Kosciuszko.
