Ohope ($5.50) delivered a strong win in the 2025 Tapp-Craig results at Rosehill, surging home under Tommy Berry to claim the Listed feature for three-year-olds. Trained by Michael Freedman, the up-and-comer made the most of barrier six and a Good-rated track to notch his biggest career victory to date in the $500,000 event. Berry gave the Godolphin colt a patient ride, settling just off the speed before producing him at the right time to reel in Farnicle and Estremo in the final stages. The win was a breakthrough for the son of I Am Invincible, who had been building nicely this prep and was well-supported in early markets. His closing sectionals were sharp, and the win puts him firmly in the frame for upcoming spring targets, potentially including the Group 3 Carbine Club Stakes or even a tilt at the Coolmore Stud Stakes if connections opt to freshen him.

The Tapp-Craig is a newly created race for three-year-olds held for the first time in October of 2022 on Silver Eagle Day at Royal Randwick and won by Rubick filly Opal Ridge.
For the second edition in 2023 the event moved to Rosehill Gardens on Hill Stakes Day and saw a second filly take it out with the Hawkes Racing-trained Makarena.
Serving as a key support act on the card now headlined by the lucrative Group 2 $2 million Hill Stakes (1900m), the event is now Listed race worth $500,000.
The race is contested over 1400m at set weights plus penalties.
The Tapp-Craig is the premiere lead-up to the Group 2 $1 million Callander-Presnell (1600m), formerly run as the Stan Fox Stakes, which took place over a mile for the first time in 2022.
The top three placegetters out of the Tapp-Craig results are exempt from Callander-Presnell ballot.
In 2024 the Tapp-Craig winner Anode went on to run third in that year’s Callander-Presnell trifecta while Just Party ran second in both events.

The 2025 Tapp-Craig takes place on Saturday the 11th of October 2025 as part of Sydney’s Hill Stakes Day at Rosehill. The meeting other key events are the:
