Queensland Oaks
Looking for this year’s Queensland Oaks betting tips, race field and form? The experts at Neds have put together everything you need to know before this year’s race.
Run over 2,200 metres, the Queensland Oaks is a Group 1 race taking place at Eagle Farm Racecourse in late May or early June during the popular Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival.
From 2017-19 the Queensland Oaks ran at Doomben Racecourse, and prior to that it was held over 2,400m. There was no Queensland Oaks run in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the race returning at Eagle Farm in 2021 over 2,200m. The Queensland Oaks prize money is set at $700,000 as of 2022.
Run at Doomben earlier in the carnival, the Group 2 The Roses (2000m) serves as the key lead-up race into the Queensland Oaks field each season and Youngstar (2018) was the last filly to complete the double.
The 2022 Queensland Oaks form was franked with the winning filly Gypsy Goddess returning that spring to finish third in the $10 million The Golden Eagle in Sydney.
In 2024 there was a huge upset with Socks Nation saluting at Queensland Oaks odds of $101.
