Golden Rose Stakes 2020
The Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes is one of the key races held in Sydney over the spring for three-year-old horses, the 1400m showdown taking place at Rosehill Racecourse on the fourth Saturday of September.
Elevated to its current elite level status in 2009 the event offers $1 million in prize money. It first ran in 1978 as the Peter Pan Stakes, named in honour of dual Melbourne Cup winner Peter Pan (1932, 1934).
The race name changed to the Golden Rose Stakes in 2003 and has been won by many turf greats during their three-year-old seasons including in recent years Exosphere (2005), Trapeze Artist (2017) and The Autumn Sun (2018).
