Overcoming a wide run throughout, he surged to victory in slick time to subsequently firm in from $11 to $6 to win the $10 million Golden Eagle on November 1.

The Silver Eagle is one of the newer races on the Australian Racing Calendar, the event taking place at Royal Randwick Racecourse each Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.
It began as a non-Black Type special conditions event before officially gaining Group 3 status in 2024.
The Silver Eagle now takes place on The Everest Day which is headlined by the world’s richest turf race – the now Group 1 $20 million The Everest (1200m).
First contested in 2019 the Silver Eagle race is open only to four-year-old horses and runs in October.
Offering $1 million in prize money as of 2022 the Silver Eagle also offers a ballot exemption into the lucrative $10 million The Golden Eagle (1500m) run at sister track Rosehill Gardens later in the month for the first three over the line.
The Silver Eagle is a 1300m middle-distance sprint that attracts the season’s best four-year-olds and is run at set weights plus penalties.

Silver eagle Race Day 2025
The 2025 Silver Eagle takes place on Saturday October 18, 2025, as part of Sydney’s The Everest Day at Royal Randwick. The meeting runs on the same date as Melbourne’s $5 million Caulfield Cup (2400m). The meeting offers just shy of $35 million in total prize money with the other key events on the card being the:
- Group 1 $20 million The Everest (1200m),
- Group 1 $5 million King Charles III Stakes (1600m) – formerly the George Main Stakes,
- Group 3 $2,000,000 Sydney Stakes (1200m), and the
- Group 3 $250,000 Angst Stakes (1600m).
