There have been six multiple Adelaide Cup winners to date with Our Pompeii (1993, 1994); Lord Reims (1987, 1988, 1989); Tavel (1970, 1973); Peerless Fox (1950, 1951); Eye Glass (1911,1912); and Cowra (1866, 1867).
Of those, Lord Reims (1987-89) is the sole three-time Adelaide Cup winner and now has a Group 3 event named in his honour that serves as a key Adelaide Cup lead-up race.
The 2022 Adelaide Cup winner Daqiansweet Junior saluted for the punters as the $4.20 favourite to hand local jockey Ms Jamie Kah her fourth win on the day and first in the two-mile classic.
The Adelaide Cup 2023 winner Rebel Racer ($26) scored an upset victory in the 153rd edition of the event off a thrilling front-running ride by jockey Craig Newitt ahead of a jumps career for Yargi Racing.
The 2024 Adelaide Cup winner was the Richard Cully-trained Launceston Cup champ Excelleration ($4.40) who won by a nose in a thriller with Harry Coffey in the saddle.
The 2025 Adelaide Cup winner was the locally trained Fiorente mare Silent Surrente ($10) for Will Clarken & Niki O’Shea who was ridden bravely in the lead by apprentice jockey Rochelle Milnes to outstay the field and salute for the locals by 1.2 lengths.
The 2026 Adelaide Cup winner was four-year-old Tivaci gelding American Wolf in an upset at $21 for trainers Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young with jockey Jett Stanley aboard on 53kg from barrier 8 to win by 0.06 lengths in a photo thriller over the beaten favourite Highland Bing on a Good (4) track in a time of 3:23.45.
