HOROLOGIST (5) resumes for Chris Waller, with James McDonald booked for the ride.
The Written Tycoon colt showed promise over winter, placing twice at Canterbury on rain-affected tracks. That form has since stood up well.
He’s looked sharp in both lead-up trials and appears ready to tackle 1300m first-up. From barrier three, he should settle just behind the speed and be well placed to finish strongly.

| Resuming after a three-and-a-half months break. Finished off last campaign third of 7 at Canterbury 2yo 0Sc July 8 over 1200m, on heavy track; 0.6 len behind Hostwin King with 57.5kg at $8.50. On debut second of 10 at Canterbury 2yo C&G Mdn June 17 over 1250m, soft track; 0.8 len behind By Napolean Hill carrying 55kg at $12. Sure to be well found for the premier combination. | |||
ZONKSTAR (3) is a promising four-year-old lining up for his fourth start under Matthew Smith.
The American Pharoah gelding has won two of his three races, including a strong victory at Canberra a couple of weeks ago over a slightly shorter trip. He was held up in the straight, so could have won by an even bigger margin.
He stepped up sharply in distance after racing over 1400m at Illawarra Grange, suggesting there may be more improvement to come. With a jockey upgrade and barrier two, he should get every chance to settle in the box seat.

| Last start favourite; raced right near the speed and boxed on; won by 2.25 len in a Bm65 at Canberra on October 9 over 2000m defeating Midnight Affair with 59.5kg at $1.75. The run before that 6th of 11 in a Cl1 at Illawarra Grange on September 17 over 1450m, 6 len behind Beautiful You carrying 59kg at $14. Looks a nice stayer in the making – big chance despite the rise in class. | |||
AMREEKIYAH (7) will need a little luck early to cross from the wide draw.
Peter Snowden’s mare returns from a four-month spell after a respectable run over a mile at Saturday grade, finishing just 1.6 lengths from the winner in a strong fillies-and-mares race.
The Justify mare has won two of her three first-up starts and showed plenty of late speed in a recent Rosehill trial. Chad Schofield knows her, and any give in the track would be a bonus.

| Resuming after a break of four-and-a-half months. Finished off last campaign fifth of 11 at Randwick F&M Bm78 June 6 over 1600m, soft track; 1.5 len behind Bravissima with 58kg at $7. First up last campaign fourth of 10 at Kembla Grange F&M Bm78 November 22 over 1200m, soft track; 2.5 len behind Weeping Woman carrying 55.5kg at $5.50. No surprise if she ran a big race. | |||
SUPERFABULISTC (2) is hard to fault, with Rachel King sticking with her.
She was narrowly beaten first-up over 1400m on the Kensington track, leading early before tiring late to finish second to Alabama Fox.
King partnered her to back-to-back wins at Warwick Farm to close out her winter campaign. The Super Seth mare carries an extra 1.5kg, but only needs to improve slightly on her fresh run to be a strong chance over her preferred distance.

| Second run back. First-up after five months set the pace for much of the race 2nd of 7 in a F&M Bm78 at Randwick Kensington on October 7 over 1400m, on a slow track; 0.7 len behind Alabama Fox with 59kg at $4.60. Previously second-up 2nd of 8 in a 3&4yo Bm72 at Hawkesbury on April 8 over 1500m, 0.6 len behind Night Agent carrying 54kg at $13. Genuine mare who is certain to be there at the business end. | |||
