MALAMAGIC (8) looks ready to make a strong debut after three promising trials.
He showed plenty of early dash in his first hit-out, leading all the way.
In his second, he settled off the pace before charging home to miss by a nose.
His latest trial was just as encouraging. He showed speed to settle second, then cruised through the work with plenty left to finish a length runner-up.
Daniel Moor stays aboard and has a great draw to work with, giving the colt every chance to settle forward.

STORMING HOME (7) gets a fresh start for Jack Bruce after making one appearance in Sydney.
She was well beaten on debut at Kembla Grange in February, but a decent spell looks to have helped her develop.
Her two trials ahead of this return have both been encouraging. She settled back on each occasion, then powered through the line under her own steam.
Ben Thompson has been on board for both hit-outs and sticks for race day.
There doesn’t look to be much speed, so he could find a handy spot early.

SHIRVINGTON (2) has switched to Michael Freedman’s stable after previously racing for Bjorn Baker in Sydney, and he looks ready to make his mark fresh.
The Capitalist gelding led throughout in a recent Gold Coast trial, winning comfortably by 3.3 lengths.
He’s a reliable fresh performer, with three wins from four first-up runs.
One of those came over this distance at Wyong at the start of last preparation.
Jace McMurray claims 1.5kg, and from barrier one he can drive forward and either lead or take the box seat.

MONOTONE (5) announced himself with a dominant first-up win at the Sunshine Coast, scoring by 6.27 lengths for new trainer Jack Bruce.
The son of Lonhro settled in the second-last pair and was still learning his craft in the straight.
Once he found the front with a furlong to go, he burst clear and left the field behind.
He should strip fitter and has raced second-up before, finishing behind Aethelwulf, who has since won a Group 3.
Ben Thompson can let the speed go early, then bring him into the race late.
