We have Courtza Stakes tips and predictions for the Group 3 feature race out of Caulfield this Saturday.
Courtza Stakes odds have presented punters with an even betting field, and there is plenty of value available.
See below for the runners we’re locking in for our Courtza Stakes best bets and Same Race Multi selections this Memsie Stakes Day.
Winning form is good form for the Courtza Stakes, and Tom Dabernig has his mare, SHADHAVAR (1), flying this year.
The 5YO mare by Pride of Dubai won at Murray Bridge and Morphettville in South Australia before coming to Victoria and winning at Caulfield last start, which was an excellent effort along the inside of runners.
She does most of her best racing at Caulfield with nine starts for two wins and four placings, with three wins coming over the distance. She’s a good bet based on statistics, and getting the inside draw doesn’t hurt her chances.
The $2.70 odds are about as low as we’d want to recommend taking, but it’s good enough value for punters to enjoy for the big race on Saturday. Her odds could firm to around $2.40 on race day, so it’s best to jump on the current line.

| Second run back. First-up after five months favourite; won by a long-neck in the LR Regal Roller Stakes at this track on August 15 over 1200m in soft going defeating Persian Spirit carrying 54kg at $5. Previously second-up favourite; won by 1.0 len in the LR Matrice Stakes at Morphettville on March 28 over 1200m defeating Power Beau with 54.5kg at $2.35. Strong win fresh and this is an ideal race. | |||
The Godolphin blue could shine at Caulfield on Saturday with CUSTOM (5), who has been rewarding punters this preparation
She scored a quality win at Caulfield two starts ago, and she wasn’t far away from Flyer last time out, and she is good enough to turn the tables on that runner this time around.
The daughter of Street Boss should get a good run in transit from barrier 5, and she will be there to strike at the top of the straight. Being a tough mare helps in these conditions, and she has been rock-solid in betting markets.
The $6 odds are generous enough to include her in Courtza Stakes predictions.

| Form hard to fault. Most recently 3rd of 8 in a Bm88 at Caulfield Heath on August 8 over 1200m, slow going 0.6 len behind Flyer with 52kg at $1.75. The run before that favourite; won by 3 len at this track on July 25 over 1200m on a rain affected track defeating Sun Setting with 56.5kg at $2.35. Can bounce back with further upside. | |||
We’re going with another Godolphin runner, which isn’t a bad strategy at this time of the year.
PHOTOGRAPH (12) had only one run last preparation when running second at Caulfield behind Gentle Steel, and she has enjoyed a nice spell, having not raced since March.
Connections probably didn’t expect a wet track for the Courza Stakes, but it suits her better than most runners. She is unbeaten in two runs on heavy surfaces, so she will get through conditions well.
Blake Shinn is riding well since returning from injury, and although drawing wide doesn’t help her chances, most of the field could swing wide around the home turn. She’ll have the revs up and be ready to launch down the outside.

| Dual acceptor. Back after a long spell. Only had one start last campaign 2nd in a small field in a F&M Swp at this track on March 14 over 1100m, 1.0 len behind Gentle Steel carrying 55kg at $2.50. First up last campaign 6th of 11 in the LR Alinghi Stakes at this track on October 18 over 1100m, 1.75 len behind Stretan Angel carrying 56kg at $19. Won a jump-out at Flemington on August 14. Handy and should be running on. | |||
Punters get value odds with our Courtza Stakes SRM, which includes our three selected runners.
- Top 3 – No. 6 Shadhavar
- Top 3 – No. 11 Custom
- Top 5 – No. 12 Photograph
We have Shadhavar Top 3, Custom Top 3, and Photograph Top 5, which pays a whopping $9.00 with Neds.
Those odds are worth including in Courtza Stakes tips, and we’re loving the $1.80 for Photograph to finish in the top 5. She’s a live chance to win the race outright, so we’ve gone for a safer option to boost payouts.
