Didn’t it feel great to have the NFL back last weekend? Or at least something resembling the NFL.
Let’s be honest, once you get into the third and fourth quarters for most of these games it’s involving a bunch of guys whose names you will have definitely forgotten in a months’ time.
For the second week of preseason, we might see a few more familiar faces take to the field after the likes of Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees all auditioned for the Olympic “Standing There” event.
We’ve scoured the markets for Week 2 of the NFL Preseason and found these plays for the coming games.
This one is summed up as one giant bag of ‘woof’ with two of the dullest sides in the NFL facing off.
The good news though is it does open up the betting play of backing both of these sides to suck and not produce a single highlight.
Granted, this probably won’t be an A-League style 0-0 draw but it could be damn close and come down to the stones of the guy kicking the ball.
Either way, if there’s any sort of entertaining offensive play here it’ll be better than expected.
Yes, it’s preseason, so it’s not as straightforward as some other lines but you have to wonder how the hell the Giants are favoured over the Bears.
I’ll give you the fact Daniel Jones looked really good and he’s probably going to get a bit of action here but how much?
Plus, if they do opt to send Eli Manning out there, that’s probably going to help the Bears more than the Giants.
Take the Bears to win, they should be able to handle the guys not deemed good enough to be starters for the Giants.
Backing the points total in any preseason game always carries a certain level of risk but it seems like we could see a few points here in Tennessee.
Chances are Tom Brady and the rest of the Patriots starters will see some action early, at least for a couple of drives and they should be able to generate some points there.
Plus the backups looked really impressive with rookie receiver Jakobi Meyers a standout performer and will be looking to back that up with another good showing here.
While their defence managed to shut down the Lions last weekend they struggled with the Titans last season which could lead to some points on both sides.
Looking through the box score of the Rams-Raiders preseason game there were a bunch of “who the hell is that” reactions but I’m expecting some meaningful reps for Jared Goff this weekend against the Cowboys.
Dallas on the other hand will likely return serve with Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper playing, although Ezekiel Elliot is still sunning himself in Cabo which should be a warning sign for this weekend and the coming season.
Neither side looked overly impressive last week but as a home dog, the Rams are a good enough bet to take here.
