#12 Chains of Love

The mare’s last campaign included a decisive victory in a Class 3 Highway Handicap over 1200m at Randwick on June 20. CHAINS OF LOVE (12) settled close to the speed and finished strongly to win by 1.3 lengths from Exit Fee, with Hurry Miss another 3.1 lengths away in third. That performance is a good form guide for The Kosciuszko.

She then travelled to Melbourne for the Listed A.R. Creswick Stakes over 1200m at Flemington, where she finished third, and that’s a good sign for her future. She was able to travel and race well, so that’s a big tick.

Chains of Love has since prepared for her return with three trials. Her most recent was a 900m trial at Scone on October 7, where she won by one length ahead of Rivellino. Based on that, she headlines our Kosciuszko tips at each-way odds.

Previous preparation first-up favourite; to post a big 4.5 len win. Scone Ctry Cl1 May 15 over 1100m defeating Starverna carrying 57.5kg at $1.60. Exciting mare primed with the three trials, go close.

#8 Considered

CONSIDERED (1) has good form on heavy ground, and that could be enough to take her close in this race.

The mare’s latest two starts were the Open Handicap over 1110m at Doomben on September 12 and a Benchmark 85 over 1200m at Eagle Farm on October 3. She finished fifth of 10 at Doomben, beaten three lengths by Polyglot, before finishing ninth of 11 at Eagle Farm, beaten 6.1 lengths by Just Precious. Neither performance was particularly encouraging, but both came on Good 4 tracks rather than the testing conditions expected at Randwick.

Considered had put together a winning streak of five consecutive wins before her recent spell, and with Zac Purton in the saddle, she could get back to her best on Saturday.

#16 Where’stheprofit

Punters get good odds for WHERE’STHEPROFIT (16) to win for Cameron Crockett, and although not guaranteed a start in the field, he is worth including.

His recent form has been excellent, including a win at Dubbo last time out. If he is anywhere near that level on Saturday, he should give this race a good shake, and the $41 odds are much longer than expected.

Luck is needed from a wide barrier, but he can settle off the speed and come with a late run, so look for him to be finishing down the outside as a blowout chance.
