Schillaci Stakes 2026 Betting Tips, Predictions & Favourites

Our Schillaci Stakes predictions have JIGSAW (1) on top, and he’s the best sprinter in the race. He is a 16-time winner coming off a Quokka win in the West, and that’s an excellent form guide for this race.

The 8YO gelding is no spring chicken, but he keeps producing the goods, and the second half of his career has been outstanding. Trainer Cindy Alderson has him running good times, and that’s good enough to win most sprint races in Australia.

He scored at Group 1 level two starts ago, and he loves running at Caulfield as a five-time winner, so it’s tough to find negatives around the favourite. The $2.45 odds are warranted, and he gets the inside draw, so he’ll jump to the front and never give the rest of the field a chance.

Our Schillaci Stakes tips include FLYIGN FOR FUN (4), who gets her chance to turn her form around, and there has been a solid betting push for her.

The Bryce Heys-trained mare gets the services of James McDonald in the saddle, which is ideal, and she was only 1.6 lengths behind Mazu and Joliestar last time out, which is a good form guide for this race.

Her best form comes over this distance, with eight runs for three wins, and if McDonald gets her on the back of Jigsaw, she could finish over the top of the favourite. The $5 odds are fair for a quality sprinter, but she will need to be at her best to win.

We’re prepared to give STREISAND (8) another chance after a disappointing fresh effort at Flemington. She finished only sixth behind Satono Glow, but it was her first run after a long and tough 2YO campaign.

She is now a stronger 3YO, and running at Caulfield helps her chances. She’s a two-time winner at the track, and she can use the tight home turn to slingshot the field, so we wouldn’t be quick to rule her out of Schillaci Stakes predictions.

The $11 odds make her worth the risk, and she could give exotic odds a fair boost in a field where there isn’t too much value outside of the favourite.
