FLARESSENCE (8) has made the top three in all four career starts and brings a strong level of consistency into this race.
She led over this course and distance in a Saturday three-year-old event last start, but Esperanza ran her down and she finished third, 3.75 lengths away. Esperanza has since franked that form with a win here on Saturday.
Flaressence’s run at the Sunshine Coast two starts ago was a good one. She handled the Soft 6 and won by 2.8 lengths.
She gets in with just 52kg from the inside barrier, and Taylor Marshall takes over from the apprentice. She should give them something to catch.

BUDDA BAR (8) had his chance to challenge for the win interrupted last start over this distance at Doomben.
The Tony Gollan-trained gelding was finding the line well when the eventual winner severely checked him with 150m to go. He recovered and charged through the line to finish fourth, 2.79 lengths away.
That came after a promising debut over this course and distance, when he finished second, 1.5 lengths from the winner.
He should be at peak fitness and can settle close enough to have his chance.

MIRRA IMPACT (1) drops in grade after a solid second in a Saturday metropolitan BM78 Handicap over this course and distance.
The Corey and Kylie Geran-trained gelding worked strongly to the line and finished 1.93 lengths behind Sydney visitor Samarelle. He had also run a 1.13-length third in a BM85 Handicap on Weetwood Day at Toowoomba, so he arrives in good form.
The wet won’t worry him. Before joining the Gerans, he won and finished a nose second in his two Sydney races on heavy tracks.
Michael Rodd should be able to give him an economical run.

STORMING HOME (12) looks to have improved during her decent spell after finishing a distant fourth on debut at Kembla Grange in February.
Now with Jack Bruce, the daughter of The Autumn Sun settled outside the lead over this course and distance before letting down nicely to win by a long neck. She tired late, so should take plenty from that run.
She has a slightly awkward draw, but Ben Thompson should be able to slide across and find a prominent position.
