We have Danehill Stakes tips and predictions for the Group 2 1100m race at Flemington on Saturday.
Danehill Stakes odds have a quality betting field, including some runners who will be worth following for the rest of the carnival.
Our Danehill Stakes predictions have NATURAL FLING (10) being too hard to get past down the Flemington straight.
The 3YO filly has form on the board this spring after winning at Caulfield before placing behind My Gladiola at Group 1 level at Sandown, and there is nothing wrong with that form for this level of racing.
Drawing wide down the straight is typically an advantage, and although she will be vulnerable late in the race, her blistering barrier speed should be enough to set up a break on the field, and she’ll be tough to catch.
Her current odds are about as short as we want to take, but there is enough value in the $2.60. She ran at odds of $3 at Group 1 level, so that puts things into perspective.

OVER EXCITED (4) didn’t do much wrong when running second behind Satono Glow at Flemington, and having experience running down the Flemington straight is something not every runner in this field has.
That could make the difference over the concluding stages of this race, and she looked good on debut when winning at Geelong over Icelady, who has since beaten a good field in the city.
There is a lot to like about her form entering this race, and she hasn’t been overlooked in betting markets. She will need to avoid getting crowded from barrier 4, but Ethan Brown is riding well, and he could get the job done on board the daughter of Zoustar.

There is some value available with BIG SKY (7), who started his career with back-to-back wins at Flemington and Caulfield.
He finished third last start at Flemington, but it was a good effort after not racing since January, and he might be the forgotten runner in this field. His first two wins were excellent, and he’s a highly rated type.
Barrier 7 should give the son of Bivouac every chance to find a good spot in running down the straight, and given the double-figure odds available, leaving him out of Danehill Stakes tips could be a mistake.

Punters get value odds with our Danehill Stakes SRM, which includes our three selected runners.
- Top 2 – No. 10 Natural Fling
- Top 3 – No. 11 Over Excited
- Top 5 – No. 2 Big Sky
We have Natural Fling Top 2, Over Excited Top 3, and Big Sky Top 5, which pays $6.00 for our three-runner SRM.
The odds aren’t huge for our same race multi, but it has a good chance of collecting for punters. Natural Fling should run in the first two home, and $1.65 is a good price to include. Over Excited is a solid Top 3 bet, and Big Sky is a genuine chance of finishing in the money at nice odds.
