Neds’ Tuesday Best Bets have landed as we look to find a few midweek winners at Wodonga!
ZANE ZENA (8) comes back a level after competing at metro grade last time in work.
She’s had three goes for zero placings so far, but has trialled up well at Flemington leading into her campaign, beating home some handy horses in the process.
The Corstens and Larkin-trained three-year-old has handled wet tracks in the past and should prove hard to hold out if she gets the right ride in behind the speed.

| Resuming after a four-and-a-half months break. Finished off last campaign second last in a small field at Caulfield Heath Mdn April 29 over 1500m, 4 len behind Ertijaaj with 57.5kg at $13. On debut fourth of 9 at Bairnsdale Mdn-Sw March 22 over 1000m, soft track; 7 len behind Mainmankash with 57.5kg at $10. Should take beating. | |||
HOTEI SENSHI (3) looks well-placed sticking to the mile.
He was up sharply in distance last time out at Seymour where he was back around midfield in the early going, showing some nice late speed over the final stages on a track that suited those on speed.
Fitter now and drawn to receive a more economical run in transit, he looks one of the hardest to beat.

| At the latest run 7th of 11 in a Bm62 at Seymour on August 27 over 1600m, on a wet track; 6 len behind Talkin’ Stern carrying 60kg at $5.50. The start before that 7th of 11 in a 3yo Hcp at Caulfield on July 25 over 1400m, on a slow track; 4 len behind Lauberhorn with 51.5kg at $16. Worth forgiving and can turn things around. | |||
Wodonga: Race 6 – BM56 Handicap (1400m)
BRUTIFY (7) might get some revenge on More Highs On Me after coming off second-best last time they met.
The gate works much better in her favour on this occasion and based on the way she finished off that race, she should love getting out to 1400m for a second time.
Some added wet track form strengthens her claims and she’s likely to press forward and find the box seat early.

| Racing well recently. Last start 2nd of 9 in a Bm56 at this track on September 1 over 1300m, on a slow track; nose behind More Highs On Me with 57kg at $2.10. The start before that 2nd of 9 in a Bm56 at Wangaratta on August 23 over 1300m, on a slow track; 2.25 len behind Friendzoned carrying 57kg at $3.50. Only needs to hold form to be going close. | |||
FOREVER WITH NED (3) drops back slightly in trip after contesting a 1200m race at Echuca last start.
She was seen hitting the line hard for third in the end and was also competing off a four-week break, so it’s safe to assume there’s some natural improvement still to come.
Given most of her wins have come in the wet, she’s the rightful favourite with Billy Egan sticking in the irons.

| At the latest run raced on the speed and boxed on steadily 3rd of 7 in a Bm56 at Echuca on August 30 over 1200m, on a slow track; 1.3 len behind Chantra carrying 61kg at $6. The run before that 10th of 14 in a Bm56 at Wangaratta on July 31 over 1170m, on heavy track; 4.5 len behind Hells Son carrying 61.5kg at $7. Capable of fighting out the finish again. | |||
