SO STAR (5) resumes for Patrick Payne and rates as one of the hardest to beat based on recent jump outs and trials.
The son to Zoustar ran some nice races without winning during his three-start maiden prep, debuting for third over 1300m at Seymour late last year.
He could be wanting longer, but this look a nice leadoff point with Billy Egan riding in good form of late.

ASSISI (11) should find this much easier after taking on a Stakes race on debut at Caulfield last year.
The Shamus Award filly was severely outclassed finishing second-last, before being quickly sent back to the paddock for a long spell.
She showed some nice late speed in a trial two back and looks well-suited to this short sprint trip.

HABITUAL (12) looks ready to take the next step after storming clear to win his maiden by a whopping five lengths at Warracknabeal last start.
The son to Foxwedge was all class in transit, settling in behind the speed before finding clear air and really punching clear with authority.
He still has room for improvement to come third-up and all signs point to him relishing another race over the mile.

MAMUNO (10) was the beaten favourite fresh at Mornington last time out but is much better suited here over longer.
He had a tough run out wide first-up where he left himself too much ground to make up, but there’s plenty to like about his bounce back chances given he won out past 1400m last year.
From a soft draw, he maps to get right back in the run and save his best for the finish.
