Sandown Best Bets – Wednesday, September 9

Sandown Best Bets – Wednesday, September 9

Sandown is the focus on Wednesday as we look to continue the week on the right note in our Daily Best Bets!

Race 4 – Quayclean Handicap (1800 METRES)
No. 11 Gold Chariot
The wide draw should not pose a major concern for GOLD CHARIOT (11) or Blake Shinn.

The pair combined to score over a mile on the Lakeside track a few weeks ago, settling well back before making their move five-wide into the straight and powering clear to win by more than a length.

The son of Circus Maximus appeared to have plenty left in reserve through the line, so the step up in distance looks ideal with three runs now under his belt.

Race 5 – Sportsbet Feed Handicap (1000 METRES)
No. 2 Jacaranda

JACARANDA (2) looks well placed here after another break of close to four weeks.

The Hayes-trained filly finished runner-up over this track and distance last month behind Buggsy, leading for much of the way before fitness gave out late.

She has also produced some solid performances at Stakes level earlier in her career and maps to enjoy a well-timed run from midfield on Wednesday, with the apprentice claim providing further relief at the weights.

Race 7 – Orbit Logistics Chautauqua Stakes (1300 METRES)
No. 3 Warnie
Tip of The Day

WARNIE (3) was set to line up on Moir Stakes Day at Caulfield last Saturday before the meeting was abandoned.

He was one of the runs of the race behind Shadhavar in the Listed Regal Roller Stakes at Caulfield a few weeks ago, settling at the rear before working into the clear and finishing fourth, just 1.5 lengths from the winner.

He really hit top gear over the final 50m and continued to close the gap, so this looks a winnable assignment with Mark Zahra retaining the ride and a few extra days between runs.

Race 8 – Powerflo Solutions Handicap (1600 METRES)
No. 5 Changing Colours

CHANGING COLOURS (5) returns with fresh legs after winning on the Caulfield Heath track just over 30 days ago.

She has been outstanding since joining the Lucy Yeomans stable, winning back-to-back races by a combined 3.5 lengths.

The return to a mile on another wet track looks ideal, while barrier four should allow Blake Shinn to settle her just off midfield before making her move when it matters.
