I tell you what, week 1s that good don’t come around every bloody day. The NFL came back with a bang last week and my word I am toey for the rest of the season.
There was way more points than we usually see in a season opener, the offenses were humming and if that is just the start of the year. Once these fellas actually get stuck into their work we are going to see some pretty hectic scorelines.
A couple futures that are standing out to me at this point in time before we get into some weeklies.
I am whole hog on the Chicago Bears to go deep into the playoffs.
In just one week, Caleb Williams to win MVP has firmed from $15 to $10, now is probably your last chance to jump on.
Chicago Bears to win the Super Bowl is giving me flirty eyes from across the bar at $21. They say defence wins championships, which they didn’t show any of last week, what about just non stop offense, can that win a ring?
This article is already gonna blow out, lets get stuck into some game previews.
Here is my preview of Week 2 of the 2026/27 NFL season.
We are getting our week started off with an absolute banger of a TNF game. Buffalo just scraped home against a strong Texans defence last week and Detroit while efficient on offense did let a Saints team (who I personally don’t rate) back into a close game.
I think this will be a points fest, Josh Allen is inevitable and we saw last week just how much volume Jahmyr Gibbs will get.
I’m liking all things rushing in this game, Gibbs, Allen and James Cook should see plenty of ground yards, lets have a play on some combos shall we?
Result wise, I’m just keen to smash the overs and hope for a good game.
I did not see too much of the Jets v Titans game last week (can you blame me? They weren’t featured too much on Redzone) I do however have Breece Hall in dynasty and am very aware he saw a ton of volume last week, he would be the only player in NY green that I’m willing to back this week.
The Packers gave up plenty on the ground last week so let’s have a play on Breece.
But we’re all in agreeance that the Packers dogwalk NY here right? That 3.5 point line looks mad short to me.
Christian Watson also ripped and teared last week, I don’t mind him to see more work in this one.
All the Bryce Young haters, where you at now? My dawg balled TF out last week in a loss against the Bears last week.
Yes they start the season 0-1 but I saw plenty in the Panthers last week, I reckon they win the NFC South.
That campaign kind of starts this week against divisional rivals the Falcons. ATL have some serious headaches at every position that isn’t running back. Bijan Robinson say almost 30 touches last week and outside of that nothing interests me.
I whole heartedly believe that the Carolina Reaper tears this falcons team to shreds this week. Come along with me!
The Pats probably wish they could have last week over again, they were incredibly clunky and Drake Maye looked like a shell of the man we all fell in love with last year.
They are heavy favourites against the Steelers here who are just completely bland but if we see the same version of the Pats this week, I think Pittsburgh could keep this close.
New England get TreVeyon Henderson back this week, so Rhamondre should see less volume and on the other side of the ball, I thought Michael Pittman Jr was great last week.
I actually think this game is garbage and for that reason I’m with the Steelers to at the very least, keep this close.
My MVP bet Caleb Williams takes on an NFC North rival this week who are walking wounded after a rough outing last week against the Packers.
The Vikings will be without Kyler Murray who suffered a sickening (and quite dog) shot to the head last week. They did drop almost 40 points last week but I’m not sure if that will be an every week situation with Carson Wentz under centre.
The Bears dropped 59 points last week and the sentiment out of Chi-Town was that they were incredibly inefficient. That makes me really horny for Bears football.
I’m backing Caleb Williams for 300+ and 3+ touchdowns, this Vikings team gave Jordan Love almost 400 yards passing and Ben Johnson seems like a genuine mad man scheme wise. It’s a big price but I think this game could be huge.
I feel so bad for Justin Jefferson, the man is incredible but cannot seem to get stable quarterback play.
Bear down.
I knew the Browns were going to be bad this year but I didn’t expect them to be as comically bad as they were last week.
I said it last week and I’ll say it again this week. Whoever plays Cleveland while Deshaun Watson is at QB I’m backing for 14+
Tampa weren’t fantastic last week to be fair, I believe they had four total turnovers, three were from Baker.
That is an outlier, that won’t happen every week and I believe they tighten up significantly against the Browns.
Bloodbath in coming.
The Titans are red hot garbage, I’m not going to sugar coat it. There is absolutely nothing there that interests me. Cam Ward is not an NFL calibre QB.
They unfortunately have to host the Philly Eagles who are probably going to decimate them this week, that 7 point line looks ridiculousy short.
I like Saquon to have a day here, lets take his overs a TD and move on.
The Bengals did not quite play up to their potential last week but they still got the job done, this week Joe Burrow will need to have a game if they are to beat a strong Houston defence. Josh Allen did it last week and I know Joe has it in them.
Nico Collins is now dealing with a hamstring injury and CJ Stroud is suffering from a lack of talent, I’m tipping an upset here.
We saw no Ja’Marr Chase action last week but I believe he will be a focal point of this offense in week 2.
The Saints were a bizarre team last week, in the first half they were one of the worst football teams I’ve ever watched but that second half Tyler Shough turned into the second coming of Tom Brady.
They’ve clearly got something in them but then again so does this Ravens team.
Baltimore are a little banged up, at the time of writing we don’t know if Flowers is suiting up, rookie WR Jakobi Lane is also now on IR with a broken wrist so lowkenuienly, I think the Saints might cover this 8 point line.
Am I willing to back anyone from the stats to have a big stats day? God, I guess we take Olave, the Saints have a gross running back committee and we can’t back any Baltimore pass catchers at this current point in time.
One thing I do know, King Henry is going to get FED.
My god the Broncos absolutely sold me last week, I thought they were going to be one hot football team this year but they SUCKED against the Chiefs.
Meanwhile the Jags are looking very very sexy, Trevor Lawrence made some genuinely jawdropping throws last week and I’ve written all of this without checking the market price. To my absolute surprise the Jags are $2.25 underdogs at time of writing.
*angelic singing voice* smaaaaaaaaaaaaash *angelic singing voice over*
Trevor Lawrence is going to have a day out here, I know this Broncs D is supposed to be great but TLaw all of a sudden has become a surgeon with the pigskin.
What are the Chargers? Genuienly, are they good or bad?
They were supposed to absolutely shit in against the Cardinals last week and got embarrassed that offensively line could not read a Captain Underpants book if their life depended on it.
The Raiders are phat underdogs here but I rate them to cover in this one, just give Ashton Jeanty the ball.
You know what LA? GIVE OMARION HAMPTON the ball too.
Upset alert? I can’t tell but I like the Raiders to cover.
That’s quite kind of the NFL to give the 49ers a week off after their trip over here.
The Dolphins are about to get dogwalked by this 49ers team. The line is 13 points I can’t believe it.
This is a dart throw for me, all the 49ers boys are going to eat. My personal favourite is Mike Evans, I’ll be with him for 100 yards and a touchdown but it’s pick your poison. They’re all going to have a day.
The Cowboys really shocked me last week with how bad their defence was but I don’t believe this will be a trend all year.
They simply just didn’t get the ball in the second half, NY suffocated them and gave them no chance of winning.
When Dak did get the ball in that game, they were pretty efficient with it.
I think the Cowboys bounce back here against a Commies team I do not rate.
That four point line is calling my name like the sirens in The Odyssey.
Ooh wee, golly gosh this game is more intriguing than the markets are having you believe.
Seattle will be without Sam Darnold for this one and the Cards are indeed coming off a big upset win over the Chargers.
Brissett looks fairly serviceable as a QB and force fed Trey McBride a heap last week. Can Drew Lock do it two weeks in a row? All of a sudden I’m making the case of another Cardinals upset.
Lets not forget that Arizona also didn’t throw the ball to Marvin Harrison Jr and Jeremiah Love is another week removed from his ankle complaints.
I’m talking myself into it aren’t I? I think the Cardinals win this, I can’t believe what I’m saying right now.
I can’t believe we doubted the Chiefs, Andy Reid just continues to find a way.
This time it’s off the back of Ken Walker, he ran all over the Broncos last week. The Colts gave up 144 rushing yards to King Henry in Week 1 so I get the feeling we could see a very similar game script for old Kenny Walks in this one. He touched the ball 7 times on the first drive… UNHEARD OF.
Mahomes on the other hand was rusty as all hell, he’s obviously going to take some time to bounce back from that ACL but if you can just hand it to Walker, they’re going to score some points.
Everyone not named Taylor for the Colts last week looked clunky too, I get the feeling this might be a very run heavy game.
The Rams made a big song and dance about their Aussie travel to be fit and firing for this game on Tuesday against the Giants. It better bloody pay off.
No Myles Garrett for a while, will we see Aaron Donald return?
There’s just so many question marks around this team, Stafford looked awful at the MCG, was that an outlier?
Kyren Williams and Blake Corum are the only two Rams I can tip you with confidence and I don’t even know if they’ll get that far on this fired up Giants defence.
Big Blue are also pumped up after a big win over the Cowboys, I think we could see some Malik Nabers in this one.
