Neds’ Thursday Best Bets have landed as we look to continue the week on a winning note with four tips at Hawkesbury!
BROADWAY STREET (2) continues to race well without winning for Kerry Parker.
He’s placed twice from three starts this prep and presents rock-hard fit now fourth-up coming off three runs over 1400m.
The son to Alabama Express ran on well out wide and was only one length off the winner last start at Kembla Grange, so all signs point towards another honest effort.
| 2. Broadway Street (2) J: Chad Schofield 58.5kg 7×253 T: Kerry Parker | |||
| Last start 3rd of 8 in a Prov Cl1 at Kembla Grange on September 12 over 1400m, 1.3 len behind Green Winter with 58.5kg at $4.20. Before that 5th of 10 in a Cl1 at Kembla Grange on August 29 over 1400m, 3 len behind Harry Lime with 58.5kg at $5.50. Ready to win from the good draw. | |||
ANDRON (4) is hard fit now with four runs to his name.
He’s stepping back slightly in distance after competing over 1900m at Canterbury last start where he had a wide gate to contend with.
The inside gate should see him improve on Thursday with the visors also applied.
| 4. Andron (1) J: Dylan Gibbons 57.5kg x6757 T: M, W & J Hawkes | |||
| Most recently 7th of 10 in a 5yo+ Bm72 at Canterbury on September 16 over 1900m, 6 len behind Doradus with 54.5kg at $19. The run before that 5th of 8 in a Bm72 at Randwick Kensington on September 9 over 1800m, 3 len behind Columbus with 55kg at $21. Can turn things around in this weaker contest. | |||
BLOW IN (10) is a sneaky each-way contender second-up over further.
His best racing has come over the 1400m trip and he lost no admirers sticking on gamely for third fresh over shorter at Canberra last start where he was caught wide at one point.
In carrying only 55kg with a soft gate working in his favour, look for him late.
| 10. Blow In (4) J: Dylan Gibbons 55kg 265×3 T: Rob Potter | |||
| Second-up. First-up after four months sat on the pace when 3rd of 11 in a Tab Fed Open at Canberra on September 4 over 1300m, slow going 0.5 len behind Hurry Miss with 56kg at $15. Previously second-up 5th of 10 in a Fed Opn Bm81 at Canberra on December 5 over 1200m, on a slow track; 2.25 len behind Urafiki carrying 60kg at $7.50. Not to be taken lightly. | |||
VAIN TEMPTRESS (5) is making her third start for David Pfieffer.
This Shamus Award mare was a comfortable winner by close to two lengths on debut, before finding genuine excuses out wide at Wyong last start where she was also held up badly down the straight.
Where she winds up from the rails draw is the query, but she should be very difficult to hold out with clear running room.

| Dual acceptor. Raced twice to date. At debut, ran on from midfield and won by 1.75 len in a Mdn at this track on August 11 over 1100m on a rain affected track defeating Union with 57kg at $5.50. Last start made ground from midfield; 2nd of 11 in a Cl1 at Wyong on September 4 over 1100m, head behind Cosmic Order with 57kg at $4.60. Has ability and is among the leading hopes. | |||
