Eagle Farm Tips & Preview – Saturday, September 5

Eagle Farm Tips & Preview – Saturday, September 5

Eagle Farm Tips are ready for a 10-race card this Saturday.

Sunny weather should produce a Good track, while the rail is out just 0.5m. The track conditions should give most runners a fair opportunity, although the early races will provide the best guide.

The speed map and early tempo will be important around the expansive Eagle Farm circuit. Our race analysis looks at the key runners, main winning chances and best betting opportunities.

These Eagle Farm Tips take a closer look at the form and map for every race. Let’s get this bread!

Race 1 – RACECOURSE VILLAGE Class 3 Plate (1000 METRES)
No. 5 Angel Ladder
Each Way

ANGEL LADDER (5) looks ready to fire fresh.

The Ciaron Maher-trained mare has trialled twice, matching motors with Steady Ready before winning her latest hit-out and defeating Stradbroke Handicap winner Spicy Martini.

She has won back-to-back races over this course and distance, including one in this class last preparation.

The inside draw is a major help, and Tahlia Fenlon should be able to use the mare’s speed to put her straight into the race.

Eagle Farm R1 – Racecourse Village Plate (C3)
Open Race time:
5. Angel Ladder (1)
J: Tahlia Fenlon 58kg
1156xT: Ciaron Maher
Mare back from a spell of three-and-a-half months. Has placed previously first up from a break. Finished off last preparation sixth of 13 at Doomben Darby Mccarthy May 23 over 1110m, soft track; 3 len behind Earn To Burn carrying 54kg at $9. First up last campaign second in a small field at Sandown-Hillside Bm66 January 28 over 1000m, 0.5 len behind Croatian Art carrying 54kg at $4.60.

Race 2 – BECOME A BRC MEMBER Class 6 Handicap (1000 METRES)
No. 4 Moulin Miss

MOULIN MISS (4) gets back to the trip she wants.

The Tony Gollan-trained mare went hard in front over 1110m at Doomben last start and faded late to finish fourth, beaten 2.12 lengths, behind Let’sfacethemusic.

She was tough enough to win over this course and distance two starts ago despite not getting the easiest run.

Her Eagle Farm 1000m record is strong, and with the weight drop, Emily Lang should be able to lead this small field.

Eagle Farm R2 – Become A Brc Member Hcp (C6)
Open Race time:
4. Moulin Miss (5)
J: Emily Lang 55kg
12414T: Tony Gollan
Recent form sound. Last start 4th of 8 in a Cl6-Sw at Doomben on August 22 over 1110m, 2 len behind Let’sfacethemusic with 56.5kg at $6.50. The start before that tracked the speed and boxed on steadily; won by a nose at this track on July 15 over 1000m defeating Action King carrying 54kg at $1.85.

Race 3 – LADBROKES BLACKBOOK BENCHMARK 78 Handicap (2400 METRES)
No. 2 Chillaxing
Each Way

CHILLAXING (2) has been holding his form and can keep winning.

The Tony Gollan-trained gelding was tough over this course and distance last start, getting home narrowly after working strongly through the line.

He has already proven his staying ability with a gritty win over 2000m at Doomben three starts ago.

The wide gate is the obvious concern, but Daniel Moor should be able to cross and find a forward spot.

Eagle Farm R3 – Ladbrokes Blackbook Hcp (Bm78)
Open Race time:
2. Chillaxing (9)
J: Daniel Moor 60kg
54131T: Tony Gollan
Form hard to fault. Most recently won by a nose at this track on August 8 over 2400m defeating Benzino with 58kg at $7.50. Before that came from midfield; 3rd of 10 in a Bm78 at this track on July 25 over 2200m, 2.25 len behind Tapildoodledo carrying 58kg at $6.50.

Race 4 – THE GIBSON RATINGS BAND 0 – 65 Handicap (1200 METRES)
No. 7 Thats Archies Girl

THATS ARCHIES GIRL (7) is ready to peak fourth-up.

The Nick Keal-trained mare clocked the fastest final 200m of the day at Doomben last start and finished fourth, beaten 1.56 lengths, over 1350m.

She had placed in her two previous runs at Toowoomba and Doomben, so the form is there.

The bigger Eagle Farm track should suit, and Jai Williams’ 2kg claim gives her a chance to finish over the top.

Eagle Farm R4 – The Gibson Hcp (65)
Open Race time:
7. Thats Archies Girl (8)
J: Jai Williams 56kg
4×234T: Nick Keal
Dual acceptor. Form hard to fault. At the latest run 4th of 8 in a F&M Cl3-Sw at Doomben on August 15 over 1350m, 1.5 len behind Celtic Sin with 60kg at $5.50. The race before that 3rd of 9 in a F&M Cl3-Sw at Doomben on August 1 over 1200m, 1.5 len behind Grinzinger Champ with 60kg at $21.

Race 5 – FAMILY RACEDAY BOOK NOW No Metro Wins Handicap (1800 METRES)
No. 4 Mirra Impact
Each Way

MIRRA IMPACT (4) is fit, tough and ready for 1800m.

The son of Lonhro won first-up at Toowoomba before racing three-wide for most of his latest run over a mile at Doomben.

He still fought hard to finish fourth, beaten 1.4 lengths, and should relish getting out in distance.

He has already run well over 1900m at Canterbury, finishing just 1.38 lengths from the winner.

Gary “5G” Geran should be able to find a good spot in the run.

Eagle Farm R5 – Family Raceday Book Now No Metro Wins Hcp
Open Race time:
4. Mirra Impact (6)
J: Gary Geran 57.5kg
x1454T: Corey & Kylie Geran
Most recently 4th of 13 in a Nmw at Doomben on August 22 over 1600m, 1.4 len behind Larrikin Rogue carrying 57kg at $14. The run before that 5th of 10 in a Bm78 at this track on August 8 over 1600m, 3 len behind Golden Cross carrying 58kg at $26. Can improve again.

Race 6 – XXXX BENCHMARK 70 Handicap (1500 METRES)
No. 7 Precise Star
Tip of The Day

PRECISE STAR (7) is unbeaten since moving north and looks hard to beat again.

The Tony Gollan-trained gelding had gone seven starts without winning before joining the stable, but he has quickly turned that around.

He won narrowly first-up, led throughout for a 3.95-length Gold Coast win and then destroyed them by four lengths over a mile at Ipswich.

Barrier 1 is ideal, and Bella Youngberry’s claim should give him the run of the race.

Eagle Farm R6 – XXXX Hcp (Bm70)
Open Race time:
7. Precise Star (1)
J: Bella Youngberry 56kg
6×111T: Tony Gollan
On a three run winning streak. Last start favourite; won by 4 len at Ipswich on August 19 over 1680m defeating Wounder carrying 56kg at $2.10. The start before that favourite; scored a big 4 len win at Gold Coast on August 1 over 1400m defeating Monte Carlo Miss carrying 60.5kg at $4.80.

Race 7 – DRINKWISE Class 6 Handicap (1400 METRES)
No. 1 Fukubana

FUKUBANA (1) gets out to a much more suitable distance after flying home first-up.

The Matt Dunn-trained gelding settled last over 1110m at Doomben but produced the fastest final 400m of the meeting to finish second, beaten 1.28 lengths.

He has won both of his previous second-up races in Brisbane, so there is plenty to like about the setup.

There does not look to be much speed engaged, and Anna Roper’s 1.5kg claim should help him settle closer.

Eagle Farm R7 – Drinkwise Hcp (C6)
Open Race time:
1. Fukubana (4)
J: Anna Roper 60.5kg
590×2T: Matthew Dunn
Dual acceptor. Second-up. First-up after 10 months ran on strongly from last on the turn; 2nd of 8 in a Cl6-Sw at Doomben on August 22 over 1110m, 1.3 len behind Let’sfacethemusic carrying 57kg at $13. Previously second-up 9th of 11 in the LR Five Diamonds Prelude at Randwick on October 25 over 1500m, 5 len behind Transatlantic with 56kg at $26.

Race 8 – SKY RACING OPEN Handicap (1400 METRES)
No. 6 Brindavan

BRINDAVAN (6) was sharp first-up and can keep the momentum going.

The Tony Gollan-trained gelding let down strongly over 1350m at Doomben, recording the fastest final 400m and winning by three-quarters of a length.

He has won second-up before, and the extra distance should suit.

The class rise is the query, but dropping 4kg to 55kg is a big help. He gets a chance to prove himself here.

Eagle Farm R8 – Sky Racing Hcp
Open Race time:
6. Brindavan (2)
J: Daniel Moor 55kg
143×1T: Tony Gollan
Dual acceptor. Second run back. First-up after four months won by 0.7 len at Doomben on August 22 over 1350m defeating Ser Joh with 59kg at $6. Previously second-up won by 0.8 len at Doomben on January 14 over 1615m defeating Noble Conqueror carrying 58kg at $1.75.

Race 9 – MORETON HIRE QTIS Three-Year-Old and Four-Year-Old BENCHMARK 70 Handicap (1200 METRES)
No. 12 Maria Clara
Each Way

MARIA CLARA (12) gets the chance to make it back-to-back wins.

The Tony & Maddy Sears-trained filly was unlucky two starts ago, getting impeded and shuffled back before being held up in the straight. She still flew home to finish third, beaten just under a length.

She then raced three-wide last start and charged home to win by just under a length.

Mark Du Plessis was so impressed that he put his hand up to ride her during next year’s Queensland Winter Carnival.

She gets 54kg and draws to settle handy.

Race 10 – LADBROKES RACING EXTRAS IN MULTI One Metro Win-Last Year Handicap (1200 METRES)
No. 16 Amuseantes

AMUSEANTES (16) looks ready to take another step second-up.

The Rob Heathcote-trained mare trialled well before producing a sharp turn of foot to win over this distance at Doomben by 2.45 lengths.

She has won over this course and distance and should be fitter for the return.

This is a stronger race than last week’s midweek assignment, but 52kg is a significant advantage. With Taylor Marshall riding her so well, she can be competitive again.
