TASMAN BAY (2) returns from a year off the scene and looks primed for a bold first-up showing following two trial wins where she led throughout and worked within herself.
She showed ability last preparation in her first and only race start for the Lockwood & Vincent stable when second beaten 1.57 lengths over this course and distance.
She appears to have come back in excellent order and should be able to use her early speed from a suitable draw.
If she brings that trial form to race day, she looks hard to beat.

KATIE AINE (9) returned in great order here last start when winning over 1000m, knuckling down strongly after doing a few things wrong.
She had shown ability in her first preparation, including a third at Doomben when beaten 3.76 lengths over 1350m.
The rise in distance suits and the Chris & Corey Munce-trained filly should take improvement from that first-up win.
If she can settle better this time, she has the turn of foot to be finishing strongly again.

ODESSA (7) led until late at Doomben last start when fourth beaten 1.01 lengths over 1110m in a stronger race than this.
Prior to that, she was fair over this course and distance when fourth beaten 3.42 lengths, peaking late after looming into it.
She brings strong Victorian form for the McEvoy stable, including back-to-back seconds at Mornington before heading north.
Corey Sutherland’s 1.5kg claim helps and he can use her early speed to cross and find a forward position.

ICONIFY (4) broke through in good style at Eagle Farm last start, storming home over 1600m to win by half a length with a gap back to third.
Prior to that, he was better than the result suggests at Doomben when sixth beaten 3.38 lengths after getting too far back from a wide gate.
The Tony Gollan-trained gelding looks suited staying at the mile, where his record now reads a win and a placing from two attempts.
With confidence from that maiden win and a more positive setup, he can go on with it.
