It’s one of the biggest games of the week, and it could come down to who kicks the final goal of the night.
We give the edge to Melbourne, which has turned its season around with three consecutive wins. A notable win over Hawthorn got the Demons started on their winning streak, followed by wins over Richmond and North Melbourne.
An improved attacking line has helped Melbourne reach new heights in 2026, and a win over Geelong would place them nicely inside the top eight, and more importantly, keep last year’s finalists Geelong outside the top eight.
Melbourne -1.5 is a bet worth including in AFL predictions.

Fremantle vs West Coast Predictions
We don’t see much value in betting Fremantle to cover the spread. The Dockers failed to cover the spread against Port Adelaide last week, but we don’t feel comfortable backing West Coast to play well.
However, Jye Amiss is likely to have a big scoring game for the Dockers. He kicked four against the Power, and when Amiss is on his game, he can’t miss. He’s an accurate kick, and one of Fremantle’s best attacking players.
The Dockers could barrage West Coast inside the 50, and many of the marks could come from Amiss. Punters get value odds of .88 with Neds, which is much better than elsewhere.

Carlton vs Gold Coast Predictions
Let’s keep it short and sweet for the Carlton vs Gold Coast game. We have Carlton covering the -6.5 spread, and recent form backs up our prediction.
Carlton is playing much better footy than Gold Coast, which has lost its last eight matches, and it’s hard to be inspired by that level of play from the visitors, who don’t play their best on the road.
AFL betting markets indicate that it will be a close game, but Carlton could cruise to victory and put pressure on the teams close to the top eight.

Hawthorn vs Essendon Predictions
How good was it seeing Essendon win last week? Even if you’re not a Bombers fan, it was a great result for the struggling club. Despite the win over GWS, Nate Caddy didn’t kick a goal, which is surprising.
Caddy has been their best attacking threat all year, and it’s hard to keep a good man down. Our predictions have Caddy firing back with a big effort, and although scoring chances could be limited against Hawthorn, his tenacity sets him apart.
Caddy kicking 2+ goals is our best bet for this match.

GWS Giants vs Sydney Predictions
It’s hard to believe GWS could play as poorly as it did last week again this Saturday. Losing to Essendon is a tough result to stomach for GIANTS fans, but they could put that loss behind them with a big game against Sydney.
The Swans, having lost their last two games, aren’t flying. The loss to Fremantle appeared to have dented their confidence, and that was followed by a loss to Adelaide last week. It’s a concerning sign, and GWS could capitalise.

Western Bulldogs vs Richmond Predictions
Richmond is having another one of those years. It’s tough to bet on a team that seemingly gave up against Hawthorn last week, which leaves Western Bulldogs as the team to follow in this match.
The Bulldogs have looked shaky at times, but with three wins from their last four games, they’re back on the right track. Marcus Bontempelli has been leading from the front, and another big game from him should be enough for the Bulldogs to cover the -41.5 number.

Brisbane vs Port Adelaide Predictions
Brisbane vs Port Adelaide might not be the most exciting game of Round 20, so we’ve found value with Cam Rayner 3+ goals.
Rayner isn’t the name everyone thinks of when discussing Lions’ goal kickers, but going under the radar is a good thing for punters. He kicked three goals against Sydney in Round 16, and we predict a similar performance.
All eyes are on Logan Morris and Charlie Cameron, which allows punters to get .25 for Rayner to kick a bag.

North Melbourne vs St Kilda Predictions
A team we fancy to hit the ground running this week is St Kilda, which looks to recover from a disappointing loss.
The Saints couldn’t muster much against the Cats last week, but they have been good at rebounding from losses this season, and coach Ross Lyon should have given them a stern talking to.
They don’t need to change anything drastically, but getting more bodies around the ball would help, and if they start well against North Melbourne, they could get out to a handsome first-quarter lead and never look back.
