Jaylen Brown is on the brink of Boston history. The former Finals MVP is level with Larry Bird for the most consecutive 30-point games in Celtics history at nine.
Across that stretch, Brown is putting up 31.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game, clearing his 43.5 PRA line in 5 of those 9 outings.
He’ll be motivated today and the matchup helps too. The Jazz play at pace and sit near the bottom of the league in defensive rating, which gives Brown a real chance to bring up a 10th straight 30-plus and another big all-around night.
Robinson looks nicely placed against the Lakers, who are giving up the second-highest three-point percentage in the league this season. That’s a big tick for a player who does most of his damage from deep.
With Caris LeVert expected to sit, Robinson’s role should lift again. In the six games LeVert has missed, Robinson has averaged 13 points while logging extra minutes, putting him in a solid spot to make the most of this matchup.
