2024 NFL Divisional Round Tips & Preview

2024 NFL Divisional Round Tips & Preview

And then there was eight.

The Super Bowl is rapidly approaching and if last week’s blowouts are anything to go off, we’re due some very close games this weekend.

I’ve run my eyes over the markets for every single one.

Here is my preview of the Divisional Round.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS V HOUSTON TEXANS
See Below

After putting their feet up last week, we finally get to see Kansas City’s 3peat campaign finally get started.

To the surprise of absolutely no one, the Chiefs are hella short favourites against Houston this week and I’m 100% with them for a big win here.

The Texans are very lucky to have gotten as far into this postseason as they have and if you haven’t seen the different level Mahomes and the boys find in the postseason then honey, you haven’t been reading the literature.

CJ Stroud has been a very inconsistent QB in his sophomore season and this Chiefs side will exploit any sign of weakness you show them.

Houston played their Super Bowl last week in my eyes. Chiefs 14+

My Bets Multi $5.96

  • Kansas City Chiefs -14+ @ $2.50
  • Travis Kelce Over 52.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
  • Travis Kelce Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ $1.90
DETROIT LIONS V WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

Maybe I told an absolute porkie in the intro when I said we would get four close games this weekend.

The Lions are going to absolutely doots this Commanders team.

Jayden Daniels and the Commies put up a hell of a fight last week to get Washington their first playoff win in something like 20 odd years.

Truly a very impressive feat but this Lions team is both hungry and fresh after a week off last week.

The $1.17 to $5.00 in the head to head market just confirms what I already believe, Detroit get a nice tune up game before getting to play Philly (spoiler for the next NFC game preview).

Just like the Chiefs above, Detroit at home will be simply far too good and just like the Texans above, the Commanders played their Super Bowl last year.

Looking forward to seeing how the Commanders build around Jayden Daniels in this offseason, next year they might even go deeper into the playoffs.

My Bets Multi $11.22

  • Detroit Lions 14+ @ $2.35
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown Over 76.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
  • Sam LaPorta Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ $2.20
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES V LOS ANGELES RAMS

This matchup really intrigues me, for a lot of reasons.

Firstly, I think the Eagles severely underperformed last week.

There was multiple occasions where Jalen Hurts had the cleanest QB pocket I’ve ever seen, their defence really shut down Jordan Love, the Packers WRs were all injured and the Eagles didn’t really every break away and close this game off.

Meanwhile the Rams were phenomenal against the Vikings last week. Stafford was surgical, his WRs are seemingly big play threats every play and Kyren Williams has been elite this year (one of the greatest whiffs I had on a player this season, I thought he’d be a one season wonder).

Jalen Hurts might’ve had some cobwebs on him last week, that’s the excuse I’m going to give him for a bit of a rubbish game last week but he can’t afford another game like that against the Rams, they will torch you if give them a chance (probably a metaphor in poor taste given the fires).

I am with the Eagles here but with the assumption that they do improve on last weeks performance.

I think Jalen Hurts, Saquon, AJ Brown and Devonta Smith, hell even Dallas Goedert are enough to take these guys to an NFC Championship game, but it won’t be easy.

Cooper Kupp v Cooper DeJean is a matchup that has this whiteboy very excited too.

God it’s a 6 point line, Eagles win but I think the Rams cover.

My Bets Multi $8.06

  • Los Angeles Rams +6 @ $2.40
  • AJ Brown Over 69.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
  • Saquon Barkley Anytime Touchdown Scorer @ $1.52
BUFFALO BILLS V BALTIMORE RAVENS

I’ve got two words for this game and then about another 200 words going in depth for it.

The two words: Hell Yeah

The rest of the words: This game has potential to be the best game of the playoffs, even better than whatever the Super Bowl ends up being in a few weeks.

I am so god damn excited for this one.

Josh Allen v Lamar Jackson, the two MVP front runners do battle for a spot in the AFC Championship game.

With two red hot offences, both coming off very convincing wildcard wins.

I don’t blame you for making a case for either team here, they’re both deserving of a spot in the Super Bowl this year but their can only be one.

For me, I’m team Lamar.

That Baltimore offense even without Zay Flowers (potentially) in this one have enough firepower to go all the way.

But Josh Allen is so damn good.

I don’t want to ruin this game for myself, or for you the reader by backing a result either way here.

I think the best way to bet on this game as a punter and as a fan is to get on the overs, make yourself a coffee and enjoy two of the best QBs of this generation slug it out.

My Bets Multi $11.48

  • Over 51.5 Total Points @ $1.90
  • Josh Allen Over 225+ Passing Yards @ $1.58
  • Derek Henry 90+ Rushing Yards @ $1.62
  • Lamar Jackson Anytime Touchdown @ $2.55
