2024 US Masters Preview

2024 US Masters Preview

Ahhhhh the beautiful scenes of Augusta National Golf Course and the delicate sound of the wonderful piano.

The most prestigious event in Golf is happening this week as the top-ranked golfers from all tours collide in what will be an incredible four days of golf!

Some familiar faces will be making their way to the first tee, including defending champion Jon Rahm, former winners Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson along with 2022 champ and favourite Scottie Scheffler.

The Australian flag will be waved nice and high for this year’s edition of the Masters, as six of our best players will partake in the hopes of creating history!

Strap yourself in for a marvellous weekend of golf and I’ve broken down the chances of some of the heavy hitters in my full 2024 US Masters Preview.

Scottie Scheffler
Top 5 Finish @ $2

By far the tournament favourite this week, however history is not on the side of favourites!

The last favourite to win the masters was Tiger Woods back in 2005 in which the GOAT was paying $3.50.

For context, Jon Rahm was paying $9, Dustin Johnson in 2020 was paying $9.50 and when Scheff won in 2022 he was at a generous $16.

If the big fella is on point, I don’t believe anyone can stop him!

However, with history not on his side, I don’t think he’ll be going home with the Green Jacket this year, but he’s good enough to compete and I’ll be having a play on Scheff for Top 5.

  • Scottie Scheffler To Win: $5.25
  • Scottie Scheffler Top 5 Finish: $2
Jon Rahm
Top 10 Finish @ $2.25

It has without a doubt been a comfortable transition for defending champ Jon Rahm since making the life-changing decision to join LIV Golf, and he’s back to chase history by becoming the first golfer in 22 years to go back-to-back in the US Masters.

His form says it all, finishing no lower than T8 on the LIV Tour in the build up to this one!

But can the Spaniard do it again?

The bookies are suggesting no, but I like him to be around the pack and a T10 finish seems to be the way to go in this one.

  • Jon Rahm to Win: $14
  • Jon Rahm to finsh Top 5: $3.50
  • Jon Rahm to finish Top 10: $2.25
Jason Day
Top 20 Finish @ $2.50

36-Year-Old Jason Day is the top-ranked Aussie golfer who is featuring in the Masters this weekend, but his performance at Augusta National are moments he will no doubt want to forget.

Day recently found a resurgence in form after winning his first event in over five years at the Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch, but Augusta is completely different.

Despite missing the cut in two of his last three appearances, Day can still play some quality golf on his day (no pun intended) and is more than capable of finishing in the T10 for the first time since 2019, however there is value to be had taking him to finish in the Top 20.

  • Jason Day To Win: $67
  • Jason Day To Finish Top 5: $10
  • Jason Day To Finish Top 10: $5.50
  • Jason Day To Finish Top 20: $2.50
Cameron Smith
Top 10 Finish @ $4

It hasn’t been the smoothest ride for Cameron Smith (The Golfer) since reaching the number 2 ranking in 2022, he has since dropped all the way to number 68.

Now we understand the form for the best mullet in golf hasn’t been the best, but he has shown he’s still got it, winning three tournaments since making the move to LIV a couple of years ago.

Smith has finished at least Top 10 in four of his last six visits to Augusta National including a T2 in 2020 and a T3 in 2022 if you don’t mind.

Best of luck to the man with the mullet this weekend!

  • Cameron Smith To Win: $81
  • Cameron Smith To Finish T5: $7.50
  • Cameron Smith To Finish T10: $4
  • Cameron Smith To Finish T20: $2.10
Adam Scott
Top 20 Finish @ $3.25

Adam Scott is the only Australian to ever win The Masters, and the 2013 winner is back for his 23rd appearance in this prestigious tournament!

Scott has always been a golfer who focuses on consistency, making the cut 14 years in a row – an incredible stat regardless of the outcome this weekend.

Since his incredible win 11 years ago, he’s made the top 10 just once and a return to top of the field is the goal for Scott in the hopes of claiming his second Green Jacket.

  • Adam Scott To Win: $81
  • Adam Scott To Finish T5: $19
  • Adam Scott To Finish T10: $7.50
  • Adam Scott To Finish T20: $3.25
Min Woo Lee
Back Top 20 $2.75

Let him cook now!

The Chef has been a cult hero of sorts, winning the hearts of golf fans around the world, and building a reputation for being the most entertaining character wherever he goes!

He also had an incredible 2023, where he won the Macao Open along with the Australian PGA championship months apart from each other.

And the scariest thing is, Chef Min is only 25!

He made his first appearance in 2022, yes, he missed the cut, but he’s hoping to get a high as possible while not only representing his apprentice chefs, but also his country!

  • Min Woo Lee To Win: $67
  • Min Woo Lee To Finish T5: $12
  • Min Woo Lee To Finish T10: $5.50
  • Min Woo Lee To Finish T20: $2.75
Jasper Stubbs
Back Jasper Stubbs To Make The Cut

The Stubbs is off to the Masters!

Jasper Stubbs is making his Masters debut this week as he is the only Aussie amateur featuring in this prestigious tournament.

He made his way to Augusta by winning the Asia Pacific Amateur Championship last year.

Another bright prospect that Aussie golf fans can get around before he makes the trip to the Open in July.

  • To Win: $501
  • Jasper Stubbs To Finish T5: $201
  • Jasper Stubbs To Finish T10: $81
  • Jasper Stubbs To Finish T20: $26
