Masters week exceeded expectations with the bookies nailing it on the head by making Scottie Scheffler the favourite to win the most prestigious golf event in the world.
He plants himself in the history books by becoming the second player in US Masters history to win two Green Jackets while ranked Number 1 in the world – the first being, you guessed it, Tiger Woods.
However, it’s same stuff, different day for the Scheff as he’s the clear favourite to take out the RBC Heritage this weekend in South Carolina.
There’s a stacked 69-player field with no cuts and larger prizemoney for the winnings and places in this weekend’s significant event.
I’ve looked over the field and I’ve found some value picks for the Punters down below.
Now credit where credit is due, he played some quality rounds of golf last week.
Scheff was sitting in a comfortable second place before Bryson DeChambau lost the plot and dropped down the leaderboard.
A remarkable stat was mentioned on the coverage over the weekend that when Scheff hits a bogey, he has a 48% chance of making a birdie on the next hole, which is just prime Tiger numbers.
However, he must stop the celebration to focus on the RBC Heritage and some things are playing in my mind with this at the moment.
A big talking point has been all about his wife being heavily pregnant and she can go into labour, essentially any day now.
Now Scottie did reveal that he’d leave the tournament, regardless of the place he’s in, to be with his wife, which is selfless without a doubt, but scary for Punters.
Last year, the number one-ranked golfer in the world finished 11th at the RBC Heritage with 12 under par.
While Bookies are suggesting he’s the man to beat, I think he’ll be a little hungover for the Masters celebrations and might take a Top 5 finish to be on the safe side.
- Scottie Scheffler To Win: $4.50
- Scottie Scheffler To Finish Top 5: $1.91
He’s been on the tour for 12 months, but Ludvig Aberg has made a tremendous impact in those 25 events played.
Some of those incredible results include:
- 1 PGA Tour Win
- 1 International Win
- 22/25 made cuts.
- 3 runners up finishes
- Five Top 5 finishes
- 8 Top 10 finishes
One of those runner-up finishes included his first US Masters last weekend, which was terrific to watch.
I like his chances for the Swedish golfer to be up there at the top, and with the value of $12 (At the time of writing), thanks for coming!
- Ludvig Aberg To Win: $12
- Ludvig Aberg To Finish Top 5: $3.75
- Ludvig Aberg To Finish Top 10: $2.38
Defending champion Matty Fitzpatrick is chasing history in the RBC Heritage by becoming the first golfer to go back-to-back at the Heritage since Boo Weekley 16 years ago.
Do I think that’s going to happen?
In the 10 events Fitzpatrick has been a part of this year, he’s only finished in the top 10 twice, which really isn’t helping me here.
But with a tournament win here on his resume, I believe a top 10 finish for the Brit is a very possible outcome.
- Matt Fitzpatrick to Win: $19
- Matt Fitzpatrick to Finish Top 5: $5.50
- Matt Fitzpatrick to Finish Top 10: $3
For the first time since 2020, Rory is playing at the RBC Heritage once again.
It was announced on the RBC Heritage Twitter in the lead-up to the Masters that he was making a return to Harbour Town in South Carolina.
The four-time Major Champion is at good odds to take the chocolates but it’s something about $3.50 for Top 5 that makes you think “Dam that’s good odds”.
Rory is looking to make it 25 wins in his illustrious career, and I think he’s a chance to be in the mix this weekend.
- Back Rory McIlroy to win: $12
- Back Rory McIlroy to Finish Top 5: $3.50
- Back Rory McIlroy to Finish Top 10: $2.25
It’s going to be a tough field to pick a definitive winner but here’s my multi for this weekend RBC Heritage!

- Back Ludvig Aberg To Finish Top 10: $2.38
- Matt Fitzpatrick to Finish Top 10: $3
