Merry Christmas Punters, Santa Clause that naughty old elf must be one mean bastard to give us this slate of games so early.
We have 10 games on Christmas Day this year and another three on Boxing Day.
If you’re getting a new couch or tv for xmas this year, there is no better way to break it in with all the footy we’ve got over the silly season.
To top it off, I’ve got you a Christmas present this year too, a heap of tips for all 16 games.
I’ve run my eyes over each market, simulated each game in Madden and checked the waiver wire for fantasy studs.
Here is my preview of Week 16 of the NFL.
The Rams are a genuine chance for a wildcard spot this year and a win over the 7-7 Saints could see them break free of the .500 pack.
The Saints have won two in a row and seem to have found a winning formula, granted it was against the Panthers and Giants but if they didn’t shut those sides out we’d have bigger problems.
This game screams Alvin Kamara, he’s $1.94 for a touchdown and has gone for 50+ rushing yards in his last four games.
The home team has won each of the last eight regular season games between the Saints and Rams but I think the Saints could upset LA here.
I’ll play it safe and take them to cover.
Saints +4 @ $1.90
SGM $4.80
- Saints +4 @ $1.90
- Alvin Kamara 50+ Rushing Yards @ $1.70
- Alvin Kamara Anytime Touchdown @ $1.94
At the start of the year I said the AFC North was the most competitive division in football, now it’s just a handful of times trying to survive.
The Steelers and Bengals are two of those teams and this game could be quite grim.
No Burrow, no Ja’Marr Chase. Jake Browning v Mason Rudolph.
Miss me with all that garbage.
This game’s on my naughty list and I’m not talking the fun one.
I’m taking the Bengals to win and a big game from Joe Mixon here.
My Bets
SGM $5.40
- Bengals H2H @ $1.75
- Joe Mixon 60+ Rushing Yards @ $2.60
- Joe Mixon Anytime Touchdown @ $1.85
Have you ever seen a team fall off as hard as the Chargers?
I had multiple personal bets on Justin Herbert to be top dawg this year, backing him for most pass yards, most pass TDs even had a squirt on him for MVP.
Don’t get me wrong, Herbert has not been the issue for LA.
It’s every other part of the organisation.
How are they going to bounce back from copping 63 points from the Raiders of all teams?
They probably won’t against the Bills lets be real.
Buffalo look like they’ve returned to form and should run up the score on LA here.
My Bets
SGM $11.05
- Buffalo 14+ @ $1.90
- Josh Allen Over 28.5 Rushing Yards $1.80
- Dalton Kincaid Anytime Touchdown Scorer $2.95
This NFC North clash will have big playoff implications.
The Lions are one win away from winning the North, they could lock it up here and potentially open the door for the Packers to compete for a wildcard spot.
I love the Vikings, but I’m struggling to get excited about them at the moment.
They lost to the Bears, won 3-0 over the Raiders and lost in OT last week to the Bengals.
Credit where credit is due Mullens did look serviceable last week and the 1-2 punch of JJettas & Jordan Addison is a nightmare to cover.
But are they going to come close to this red hot Lions team? I doubt it.
My Bets
SGM: $6.79
- Lions -3 @ $2.75
- Sam LaPorta Over 48.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
- Justin Jefferson Over 80.5 Receiving Yards @ $1.88
Worst rated offense in the league (Jets) takes on the worst rated defense in the league here (Commies).
Whoever wins, we all lose for having to be on the planet at the same time as these two teams.
I hope both these teams get coal for Christmas.
My Bets
- Commanders H2H @ $2.40
- Terry McLaurin 60+ Receiving Yards
- Terry McLaurin Anytime Touchdown
The Titans really let me down last week.
I got on my soap box and told to anyone that would listen about how Derrick Henry would punch a gaping hole in the Texans and what did he finish with?
10 all purpose yards on 20 touches… Ass.
On the other hand, the Seahawks are coming off a primetime victory over the Eagles and could inflict some serious hurt on this Titans team especially if rookie QB Will Levis doesn’t suit up.
Seahawks to cover.
My Bets
- Seahawks -2.5 @ $1.90
- Ken Walker 60+ Rushing Yards
- DK Metcalf Anytime Touchdown Scorer
It’s looking more and more likely that the Texans will be with out rookie superstar CJ Stroud for the second week in a row.
For that reason the Texans are $2.25 underdogs against the Browns who have had more hot and cold patches this year than the shitty little leftovers you take to work everyday.
The Browns are 9-5 despite all the bad injury luck they’ve had this year and could very easily finish as division champs.
Their last three games are against the Texans, Jets and Bengals.
Not the worst schedule ever to be honest.
I think they get the win here if Stroud doesn’t play, one to monitor.
My Bets
- Browns -2.5 @ $1.87
- Jerome Ford Anytime Touchdown Scorer
- Amari Cooper 60+ Receiving Yards
I will not say nice things about the Falcons until they sack Arthur Smith and I will not say nice things about the Colts maybe ever.
These two weiner teams will play each other in ATL this week and anything could truly happen in this game.
The Falcons couldn’t even beat the Panthers last week and the Colts are mostly likely going to be without Michael Pittman this week who was folded like an origami crane by the Steelers secondary.
I don’t understand how the Falcons are favourites here.
Colts H2H and I’m moving on.
My Bets
- Colts H2H @ $1.94
- Jonathan Taylor 60+ Rushing Touchdowns
- Jonathan Taylor Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Bryce Young played the best game of his short career last week.
For the box score readers it doesn’t look great but the plays he made on the final 94 yard drive to lead his team to victory showed that he absolutley has a place in this league, he just needs the other 10 players on the field to do their job as well.
The Panthers are $2.95 underdogs against the $1.42 Packers and despite last weeks heroics, there’s every chance Carolina come crashing back down to earth.
I’m feeling frisky though and I’m having a vibe bet on Carolina to win, follow me at your own risk but the Panthers defence could do a number on the Packers and they did lose to the Giants.
My Bets
- Panthers H2H @ $2.95
- Bryce Young 175+ Passing Yards
- Chubba Hubbard Anytime Touchdown
Baker had one of the best games of his career last week throwing for 381 Yards and four touchdowns.
Not bad at all for a bloke that a lot of people wrote off.
Not me though and I’ll happily take off on my victory lap, Baker can play and I’ve always known that.
This week the Buccs host the Jags and there is a chance Trevor Lawrence doesn’t play, he suffered a concussion last week and is yet to train.
One to monitor but at this very point in time, I’m with Tampa.
My Bets
- Buccaneers H2H @ $1.90
- Mike Evans 75+ Receiving Yards
- Rachaad White Anytime Touchdown
Honestly, who cares.
Bears burned me last week and are they really that much better than the Cards?
Cardinals monster value at $2.75 here.
My Bets
- Cardinals H2H @ $2.75
- James Conner 60+ Rushing Yards
- Kyler Murray Anytime Touchdown
Miami are yet to shake the +0.500 monkey off their back yet and have a golden opportunity to do it here against a Cowboys team that were very very stinky last week.
Tyreek burned me last week and I’m a bit cross with him if I’m honest, almost cost me a playoff spot in my fantasy league.
He has a chance to redeem himself here and I think Hill and the Dolphins do just that.
A 1.5 point line really revs my tractor and I think the Dolphins really do a number on the Cows here.
My Bets
- Dolphins -1.5 @ $1.90
- Tyreek Hill 80+ Receiving Yards
- Tyreek Hill Anytime Touchdown Scorer
Broncos 14+
I’ll be turning this game off and enjoying Christmas lunch with my family, I think you should too.
My Bets
- Broncos 14+ @ $3.60
- Courtland Sutton 75+ Receiving Yards
- Courtland Sutton Anytime Touchdown
Have you ever seen a team coming off a 63 point game be $5 underdogs the next week?
Well now you have.
The Chiefs won’t lose another regular season game this year as Mahomie and co turn it on to go on a deep playoff run.
It was Chiefs 14+ when these guys met a few weeks ago.
I’m willing to bet on the same outcome.
My Bets
- Chiefs 14+ @ $2.30
- Rashee Rice 75+ Receiving Yards
- Isaih Pacheco Anytime Touchdown
Philly need a win and they’ve drawn just the team to lay the smackdown on.
All 12.5% of my Italian blood absolutley loves what the Giants are doing at the moment with Tommy DeVito but do we really think they’re going to come close to this Eagles team that looks really pissed off at the moment?
No chance.
I’m predicting another 14+
My Bets
SGM $9.18
- Eagles 14+ @ $1.96
- AJ Brown Anytime Touchdown $1.85
- Devonta Smith Anytime Touchdown $2.15
Wrapping up Week 16 is what I genuinely believe will be the Super Bowl this year.
The 49ers are something else this year, one of the best teams we’ve seen in quite some time.
But the Ravens have the grit to give them a serious run for their money.
The bookies don’t give Baltimore much of a chance, they’re $2.95 to win but I certainly like them to cover.
The Ravens have covered the line in seven of their last eight games as underdogs. 5.5 points is massive.
My Bets
SGM $8.02
- Ravens +5.5 @ $1.90
- Lamar Jackson Anytime Touchdown $2.80
- Zay Flowers 45+ Receiving Yards $1.70
Another week, another 3/5. Not great.
The show goes on, I’ve studied the matchups for my Fantasy team multi and let me tell you, there are some serious studs with great matchups this week.
