2022 NFL Wild Card Round Tips & Preview

The Playoffs are officially here!

After 18 massive weeks of football only 14 teams remain.

It’s been another incredible year of football, as always there are teams in the playoffs like the Jaguars, Giants and Seahawks who have exceeded expectations in a big way and now have a chance to make the Super Bowl.

The usual suspects are here as well, the Chiefs, Bills, Bengals Buccaneers and 49ers are all back again for another chance at lifting the Lombardi.

It truly is anyone’s to win this year, sure there are a couple of teams that are shorter to win than the others but almost every team in these playoffs have a genuine chance to take it deep this year.

I’ve run my eyes over the playoff fixtures this week and have you covered for tips.

Here is my preview of the Wild Card round!

Check out the nonsense we get up to to on the Neds NFL Punting Podcast too, there is a link to that below!

San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks
Tip: 49ers 14+ @ $2.30

Sunday Morning 7:30am QLD time we are treated to the first game of this playoff series.

The 49ers will host the Seahawks who got in thanks to the Lions beating the Packers in the last game of the regular season.

I’m quite concerned for Seattle, they’ve had a great year this season but I get the feeling we haven’t truly seen just how powerful this 49ers team is.

They’re going to inflict some serious hurt on the Seahawks who probably didn’t expect to be here.

SGM Tip: 49ers 14+, Christian McCaffrey Over 75.5 Rushing Yards, Christian McCaffrey Anytime TD @ $4.43

Jacksonville Jaguars v Los Angeles Chargers
Tip: Chargers H2H @ $1.75

The Jags will host the Chargers in their first play off game since early 2018.

It’s been a monster year for the Jaguars, they’ve bounced back from that two-win, first overall pick campaign last year in a massive way and are very short underdogs against the Chargers.

Do I see them getting a win though? No I don’t.

I loved watching the Jags play this year but when the Chargers are ON they can beat anyone in the league, we saw them really challenges the Chiefs this year and I see them coming out and really putting a show on here.

Chargers 14+ is $4.75 and I like that a lot but I’m a wuss so I’m only taking them head to head at $1.75

SGM Tip: Chargers -2, Keenan Allen Anytime TD, Ekeler Over 38.5 Receiving Yards @ $7.11

Buffalo Bills v Miami Dolphins
Tip: Bills 14+ @ $1.88

The Dolphins are in the playoffs but they’re not the same team that they were at the midpoint of the season.

Injuries have hit them in a bad way and even though they beat the Bills in Week 3, I think this game could get very ugly very fast.

14+ is what I’ve landed on and it is a very short price. I think the Bills are going to use this as a tune up game and will keep rolling into the next week of the playoffs.

SGM Tip: Bills 14+, Stefon Diggs Anytime TD, Gabe Davis over 50.5 Yards @ $5.89

Minnesota Vikings v New York Giants
Tip: Vikings 1-13 @ $2.45

Quite possibly could be the best game of this Wild Card round.

It went to overtime the last time these two sides met and the bookies are tipping this one to be incredibly close.

Both sides have won almost every game this year by single digit margins and have shown how powerful their offenses are. I think this will be a tug of war that the Vikings just edge out.

Daniel Jones has looked much improved this year and his performance in Week 17 to send the Giants to the playoffs was his best game ever but I think Jefferson and the Vikings will be too good for them.

JJettas has had two quiet games in a row and I think will show up in a big way at home in this one.

SGM Tip: Vikings 1-13, Daniel Jones 250+ Passing Yards, Justin Jefferson Over 92.5 Receiving @ $9.91

Cincinatti Bengals v Baltimore Ravens
Tip: Bengals -8.5 @ $2.20

They get to play eachother two weeks in a row.

Last week it was a 27-16 win to the Bengals and I think we should see a similar situation here.

The line is at 8.5 points which makes this one a nightmare to tip. Lamar Jackson is “Facing an uphill battle” to play which leads me to believe that the Bengals should be too good in this game.

Joe Burrow is him, Ja’Marr Chase is lit, I am very bias and openly admit it. Bengals to win the Super Bowl!

SGM Tip: Bengals -8.5, Burrow 250+ Pass Yards, Ja’Marr Chase Anytime TD @ $3.70

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Dallas Cowboys
Tip: Cowboys -2.5 @ $1.90

Tampa have made it to the playoffs some how.

Are they a chance to actually go deep? It is really hard to say.

It’s going to be an uphill battle against the Cowboys who have been incredible all year but their horrible offensive performance last week leads me to believe that they are beatable.

I’m sticking with Dallas though, I think their 2.5 point should be covered easily and while it’s never a smart idea to bet against Brady in the playoffs, this is the first year he’s ever finished with a losing season and I don’t think the Buccs are the same team this year.

SGM Tip: Cowboys -2.5, Dak Prescott 200+ Pass Yards, CeeDee Lamb Anytime TD @ $4.13
