2022 NFL Week 17 Tips & Preview

2022 NFL Week 17 Tips & Preview

I can’t believe it, can you believe it? There’s only two weeks left of the regular season.

Seems like just yesterday we were looking forward to the kickoff the 22/23 season and now we are starting to get a very clear idea of which teams are going to be hanging up the boots after next week and who should be booking a hotel room in Arizona.

There’s 5 playoff spots left and maybe 12ish teams in the running. It’s always a very interesting time of the year these last two weeks. Some teams who have already locked down division wins often start benching players getting ready for the playoffs and some teams (like the Raiders for example) bench their starters and start looking to next season.

Which means once again that anything can truly happen in the NFL. As always I have your back for tips and if you followed me here (or in open groups) you’d have backed a few winners with me last week!

Here is my preview for Week 17 of the NFL.

Check out the nonsense we get up to to on the Neds NFL Punting Podcast too, there is a link to that below!

Tennessee Titans v Dallas Cowboys
Tip: Cowboys 14+ @ $2.00

The Titans who started off so strong this year have really been found out in recent weeks and have turned into quite the squad of pretenders.

It doesn’t help that King Henry is listed as doubtful to play which a lot of fantasy owners in Finals will be filthy about.

This is going to be ugly for the Titans, they haven’t offered much with Malik Willis under centre this year and the Cowboys are going from strength to strength and are still challenging Philly for the NFC East title.

Anytime TD Tip: Dalton Schultz

Washington Commanders v Cleveland Browns
Tip: Commanders 1-13 @ $2.40

The Commanders who are still in the hunt for a playoff spot will be quite thankful for this matchup with the Browns.

Do I think they deserve a playoff berth? No but they could just sneak in.

They’ll need to beat the Browns here and then they have Dallas next week which leads me to believe they’ll just miss out but Cleveland aren’t really offering much up at the moment.

The Browns are averaging 11 points scored in their last 3 games and while they’ve been dull, I don’t think Washington will be much better.

Commanders should win a close one and the unders could be a play.

Anytime TD Tip: Brian Robinson

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Carolina Panthers
Tip: Buccs -3 @ $1.90

The Buccaneers have been really upsetting to watch.

They have so many players on that roster that I love but they just haven’t been it this year.

Brady did Brady things at the end of the game last week against Arizona but if they played the other 3 quarters they wouldn’t be in that posistion.

Carolina played incredibly well last week too this one is harder to tip than you’d expect.

Buccs to cover but they won’t win by much more.

Anytime TD Tip: Leonard Fournette

New York Giants v Indianapolis Colts
Tip: New York 1-13 @ $2.20

The Giants will need to win these last two games if they’d like to book a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

They stuck with the high scoring Vikings last week and have drawn a more favourable matchup with the Colts who have certainly put the cue back in the rack this season.

I think the Giants will win but I don’t think they’ll win convincingly, they’ve lacked that ability to run away with matches this year and it could see them scrape into a wild card spot but see them bow out early.

Anytime TD Tip: Saquon Barkley

New England Patriots v Miami Dolphins
Tip: Patriots -3 @ $1.90

The Dolphins who have been one of the most improved sides this season are all of a sudden staring down the barrel of a potential 5 game losing streak.

They do have a favourable matchup against a Patriots team that doesn’t know what they want to do but the Dolphins will more than likely be without QB Tua Tagovailoa who suffered another concussion in last weeks loss to the Packers.

They’ve fallen to 8-7 after being 8-3 and a loss here could see them fall out of the play off hunt, which unfortunately is how I see things happening.

Patriots to cover.

Anytime TD Tip: Rhamondre Stevenson

Detroit Lions v Chicago Bears
Tip: Lions 1-13 @ $2.40

I’ve been one of the only people all year that hasn’t believed in the Lions and then last week I give them a huge wrap and think they’re going to pump the Panthers and look at what happens.

I cannot get a read on this team and to be perfectly honest I don’t think they know what their doing either.

The Bears currently have the 2nd overall pick and I believe it’s in their best interest to not win another game this year but the Panthers showed up last week that the Lions are indeed very beatable.

I think the Lions should scrape home here but they could bottle another one very easily here.

Anytime TD Tip: Jamaal Williams

Houston Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars
Tip: Jaguars 14+ @ $3.40

The Texans got only their second win of the season last week and they now take on an AFC South rival who is in the hunt for a playoff berth.

It could all just work out for the Jags here, they could Bradbury their way into a playoff spot but they need to still pull their end of the deal and stay on their skates.

I think they’ll do that, Trevor Lawrence is starting to turn into the Quarterback he was drafted to be and the Jaguars are starting to put it all together.

They do have a pretty rough record against the Texans but this isn’t the same Jags team.

I’m tipping a blowout here.

Anytime TD Tip: Travis Ettiene

Kansas City Chiefs v Denver Broncos
Tip: Chiefs 14+ @ $1.94

The Broncos have just fired their Head Coach and things could go from bad to worse this week.

The line sits at 12.5 and that makes sense after that Broncos performance they put together last week.

For those that didn’t watch it i.e. everyone – The Broncos lost to Baker Mayfield & the Rams 51-14… On Nickelodeon

We should see a similar score line here, Mahomes to lock up the MVP and torch the Broncs.

Anytime TD Tip: Pick a Chiefs player, any Chiefs player

Atlanta Falcons v Arizona Cardinals
Tip: Falcons -3.5 @$1.94

The 5-10 Falcons take on the 4-11 Cardinals.

It is indeed a football game that is being played this weekend, that’s what the experts are saying!

Should it be getting any of your attention?  4am on a Monday morning, absolutely not.

I believe the Falcons will cover the line and I do not believe it will be a good game.

Anytime TD Tip: Desmond Ridder

Philadelphia Eagles v New Orleans Saints
Tip: Eagles -6 @ $1.90

Gardner Minshew put up an incredible effort against the Cowboys last week.

Yes the Eagles lost their second game of the year but I don’t think they lose another one in the regular season, especially against a team like the Saints.

Philly should win this one quite comfortably this week, I don’t see them losing to a team that lost to the Browns.

The line is set at 6 points, I see them winning by atleast a TD.

Anytime TD Tip: Miles Sanders

Seattle Seahawks v New York Jets
Tip: Seahawks H2H @ $2.02

The 7-8 Seahawks are still in the playoff hunt but it’s going to be a big ask in these last two weeks.

That being said though, the Jets are once again in shambles, they did look so promising to start the year but the QB headaches have really shot themselves in the foot.

The Jets come into this one as favourites but I think the Seahawks should edge them out.

$2.02 on the head to head is value for me, lets go Geno!

Anytime TD Tip: DK Metcalf

Las Vegas Raiders v San Francisco 49ers
Tip: 49ers 14+ @ $2.05

Jarret Stidham v the best defence in the league?

Yeah… 49ers by a lot.

Anytime TD Tip: 49ers Defence

Los Angeles Chargers v Los Angeles Rams
Tip: Chargers -6.5 @ $1.90

The Battle of LA!

The Chargers have booked their playoff spot already and the Rams are coming off a 51 point performance against the Broncos.

It’s hard to see the Rams emulating that same performance in this one and honestly I don’t see them even getting close.

The Chargers have really turned it around after a mid season siesta and they once again look very competitive.

LA to cover 😉

Anytime TD Tip: Mike Williams

Green Bay Packers v Minnesota Vikings
Tip: Vikings 1-13 @ $3.15

This one is fascinating.

The Packers have started to play like a decent football team once again while the Vikings defence continues to let down their offense which is easily one of the best in the league.

This is going to be a shootout and my boy Justin Jefferson only needs 200 yards to have the best season by a WR ever.

I’m taking the Vikings 1-13 because I believe they have the better offense but if you disagree with me, at least take the Packers 1-13 this one is going to be close.

Anytime TD Tip: Justin Jefferson

Baltimore Ravens v Pittsburgh Steelers
Tip: Steelers H2H @ $2.25

The Ravens have a spot in the playoffs booked but I think they’re going to fall a little bit short in these next few weeks.

I really like what Pittsburgh are putting together, the Pickett/ Pickens connection is going to be huge in the coming years and I think these two will torch the Ravens this week.

Call me crazy but I just don’t rate Brett Hundley enough to lead the Ravens to another win.

Anytime TD Tip: George Pickens

Cincinnati Bengals v Buffalo Bills
Tip: Bengals 1-13 @ $2.85

Very very easily the game of the round.

The Bengals can beat anyone in this league and may have to take the Bills on at some point in the post season.

I think we’re going to see something special from Burrow in this matchup. He’s been huge these last two weeks and is second in the MVP markets.

I think this week we could see him lead Cincy to a historic win and come in even shorter to win MVP.

Anytime TD Tip: Ja’Marr Chase
